    Hang on a sec ... if you read the Club Penguin announcement, they are not closing down Club Penguin but replacing the current version with a new one. Sounds like a big fuss about nothing.

    Well for me, it turns up Canadian pacific as the first hit. Not very interesting...

    My son spent the last two weeks pleading for me to pay for an account on club penguin for him. Of course he won in the end. Now he is getting up early so he can log on through is mothers PC before we are awake...

    If you have Linux, goto http://www.cnr.com. In addition to the usual Linux games for Linspire/Ubuntu, they have a ton of links to Linux friendly web games. One of my girls favourites is http://www.clubpenguin.com, which ironically does not have anything to do with Linux, but runs fine on it.

    I discussed this with my kids just now, and they agree 100% with the award. After all, this is the man who made barbie.com possible, as well as trollz.com, clubpenguin, and neopets.

    Try Club Penguin They claim to achieve kid friendliness through actually having on-line chaperones as you describe.

    My 8yo son is a member, but lost interest quickly and now prefers Runescape.
