Re:only Republicans believe that:Or, you're wrong.
To quote from the second source:
Perjury before a grand jury is covered by a special statute with odd features. If one lies before a grand jury and then recants--tells the truth--before the grand jury or the prosecutor is aware of the lie, the witness has a defense to a perjury prosecution. In some perjury prosecutions a witness tells one version in the morning of his appearance before the grand jury and tells a different version in the afternoon. The grand jury perjury statute states that the government can make out a case based on the contradictory testimony itself. It need not prove which statement was true and which statement was false.

Re:on second thought, pass the lead gloves please.
Everyone is way too paranoid about radiation. Sure you wouldn't want to handle it every day, but a piece of uranium metal is not the same thing as a nuclear bomb, ok?
You can hold plutonium metal in your hand and you can even eat uranium metal with minimal harm.
Wow, huh?
Even though these samples may be very radioactive, most likely, the handwashing as they say is all you would really need. They're the experts, they deal with it. Trust them. -
Re:Revival of a Program
I find this amusing.

Re:Ok, And I Should Caaaree......Why?
Wrong - the entire US market for cocaine in 1993 was $31 billion - pales in comparison to Wal-Mart's 200+ billion.

Re:And this is what's wrong with NASABack in 1969, I watched with amazement as we first landed on the moon, and I wondered what would come next. Space colonies? Lunar waste disposal? The discovery of intelligent extraterrestrial life?
...if they can't produce useful results, innovations, and profit within a few years, we need to start cutting projects and staff.First off, NASA has produced thousands of spinoffs, and I guarantee you use several of them every day.
But even aside from that, NASA isn't a corporation and not everything should be run as one. You need some "blue-sky" research that isn't focused on a specific goal. You don't know what you'll find, but you'll find something.
Now, incompetence and dumb mistakes (why didn't they use a second intererometer to check?) need to be dealt with, but overall I'd keep NASA. What we really need is some revisions in space law so that private companies can do more space research and run their own launches. Then we get the best of both worlds (no pun intended).
