Re:Do you believe in GMO studies funded by Monsant
It sounds like whatever stats someone shovels your way is what you believe,
...If it fits what you already believe. Which is normal. And why people like you don't get to the make the decisions.
Oddly enough, the lead author for this Boston University study refused to take outside funding; this study was paid for by Boston University, with no grants provided by groups with a strong bias on either side of the issue.

Re:Not likely...
As opposed to the average citizen of any other country? Why is it necessary to hold the average american up to some special standard?
I missed the part where they said Americans are more clueless about politics than other people are. And it is a fact that Americans are uninformed about politics, so it's unclear what you're complaining about, except your jerking knee.
I have done little international travel, but one thing that the heavy travelers I know all say is that foreigners are more informed about our politics than we are, and indeed they seem to want to talk about it.
I think that this is a real phenomenon, and I belive it to be because we (I am not failing to include myself) Americans are spoiled. We have more usable land per person than any other nation of which I'm aware, and we have had unparalleled prosperity. It has been distributed less and less evenly over the years, but that's a subject for another anti-American (really, anti-Corporate) rant. IOW we have not had to care because our needs have been met even when we didn't. But now, they are going unmet, and we are waking up to the very real problems in our society, one of which is that we are not awake.

Uh, Harvey is no "reviewer"; he's a LAWYER
Even reviewer Harvey Rosenfield, who is usually very kind to Apple, was quoted as saying 'some of them might be waking up now, wondering who they got in bed with.'"
Uh, in replacing the attribution you didn't replace the line which describes WHO Harvey Rosenfield is.
The guy is not a reviewer, nor has he been kind to Apple.
He is a lawyer, and the founder of the consumer advocacy group 'Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights' which has a habit of suing Apple on a regular basis.

Apple sued over faulty iPod Nanos
Latest iPod lawsuit weighs on Apple shares
Notice that in the letter to Apple he's setting up his latest run at being paid off by Apple's legal department for extortion protecting consumer rights by complaining about Apple's behavior at phone lock-in, something which is a common business practice in the United States. Disagree with Apple's business plans all you like, but is this a reason for a lawsuit to line Harvey's pockets?
Come on, Slashdot Editors--for Christ's sake, I found all this out in five seconds by an internet search of the guy's name! -
Re:As I recall...
Yeah you sell more at a higher price. This is why Windows Vista is flying off the shelves right?
Or it could be because they're trying to sell a steaming load of cow dung under the guise of it being a gold nugget. Photoshop is good but its not worth $600 no matter how you slice it. The only reason companies artificially inflate their prices to these ridiculous extremes is so that they can also inflate their 'piracy' claims as well. Hey it worked oh so well for the RIAA and the $750 per song claim -

Psssst, yeah not like that ever happens in other cities: http://www.dailyfreepress.com/media/paper87/news/

Re:now that they've had their data exposed...I'm sure my university is poor. After all, my president only made $500,000,000 as an annual salery.
Oh, and they're increasing tuition as well.

Re:It's Because Technical Programs Have _Answers_
An aside to this is that it seems to be entirely possible to get 100% on an engineering exam.
What school did YOU go to?!! My courses over the last two years have had 40's for B's. There is an impossibility for 100% grades in my courses, they try to slam everybody down for the accredidation board. Well, while I'm at it, if you're looking at colleges and are thinking of becomeing computer science or engineering, DO NOT APPLY TO BOSTON UNIVERSITY. From the jr year perspective, it's been hell the last 2 years, and it's getting worse. Scores that achieved B's freshman year are now equivalent to C's. Faculty are getting even more incompetent, and to do well in your science courses requires a fluency in Mandarin Chinese. The administration is more corporate than academic. Save your money. Go somewhere else. Fuck college and get a Ferrari if you want (hell they both add up to $160G's), but DON'T COME TO BU, at least until Silber's gone. You'll be glad you did.- Links if you don't believe me:
