record labels are making a LIVING based on how well THEIR art is received, you say ?

record labels do NOTHING other than keeping bands perpetually in debt to them, and give just cents over dozens of dollars of album sales, forcing them to go on tours worldwide not to make money, but to be able to pay the 'loans' they got from the record label in the initial contracts.

LETS talk then. lets talk about how record labels are not paying musicians, keeping them in perpetual debt, dodging taxes and royalties, and gulping 90% of the revenue generated by content sales.

or alternatively, you can just shut the fuck up, and educate yourself before you make another grandstanding statement for next time. i think that's the better option.

Like ads for hair products, emo music and razor blades perhaps.

Mind you if there's money in Emo, that would explain the style choices in digg's flickr photos.

I use MySpace to keep in contact with my friends, it's a good way to let people know about an upcoming event. I've also been able to contact/been contacted by friends from my past, some I have not heard from in more than 10 years. I'm not sure where this "file-sharing" moniker came from though, I've never used it to send or recieve a file, nor have I seen it mentioned on the site. Regardless, I have used it for social/business networking purposes and have gotten jobs out of it.

It's also a good forum for unsigned/non-major label music artists to gather their supporting fanbase and recieve more exposure through reccomendations.

Make fun of it if you must... but please realize it's not just the offspring of the people who made fun of you in highschool (the site is 18+ BTW), it's a useful site. If you do want to make fun of them though... check out the First Annual MySpace Stupid Haircut Awards.

If the users of MySpace are the future of humanity, God help us all. :-\
