Re:Bradley Manning
And yet when Bradley Manning makes an eerily similar statement plenty of people are willing to take it as proof positive that he was a bad guy.
The definition of patriotism is believing your country is the best country on Earth simply because you were born in it. Nobody's national anthem starts with "We're Number Two!" So when America says someone's bad, americans believe it, but nobody else does. When the Chinese say someone's bad, the chinese people believe it, but nobody else. And so on, and so on.
Nationalism is hardly a problem confined to America; It blinds people equally the world over. Here's some Russian propaganda about American, and here's some American propaganda about Russians. It's all the same.

Re:What is Microsoft thinking?
Not sure why you think this, other than ignorance or severe hatred. iOS can do these today. Any Windows tablet OS can't, today.

Re:twitter, I like you
When the definition of "copy", "look like" and "iOS-alike" is as broad as Apple's, then yes, it is literally the only way to design a tablet.
Keep on deluding yourself, fandroid. Do you really think that this is a "broad" definition of "copying"?
Really? -
Re:twitter, I like you
What apple proved is that people would be happy with what was basically an oversized phone, rather than a scaled down laptop, which was really the only revolutionary bit of the idea
Except that, according to Jobs, the iPad was actually developed first, before the iPhone. So, perhaps, the iPhone is more of a scaled-down iPad than the reverse. And if you've ever used both, you would likely agree that that is a fair assessment.
And you may have forgotten, so I also have just one thing to point out regarding Jobs' claims that Android became popular by becoming a nearly direct clone, (UI and form-factor-wise at the very least), of iOS devices...
And if the German Courts were fooled by a bit of chrome, shame on them. -
Re:twitter, I like you
I was perhaps your biggest fan. But an Apple boycott is not how you come back to us unless they've done something dire and they haven't.
Come back and let us beat down your trolls. That would be better than this.
If you can't do that, at least make the issue SOPA and PIPA. That we can get behind. Apple's not going to do it because their fans really don't give a darn about what us geeks think.
Really? Over-generalize much?
I've been an Apple fan since 1976, and I care very much about Our Rights Online.

Re:Proxy wars
I assume you are one of those apple consumers that has the religious parts of their brain activated when thinking about Apple.
Google is not trying to destroy apple, just trying to stop them destroying the smart phone/tablet market...which is their aim.
So in other words if you try to break my arm I am damned well going to break yours first if I can, or at least subdue you!!
You seem to believe that the fact Google is suing to defend its product justifies the suing, but that's exactly how Apple feels about suing to defend its product. In Apple's eyes, they have been ripped off by Android manufacturers cloning the iPhone and iPad and have the right to sue them for it.
The point is that Slashdotters claim Google never sues over patents, but they most certainly do. So that argument can no longer be used.

Android devices before and after the iPhone/iPad
To deny the obvious design cloning is to reach an extreme level of Apple-hating that even I can't understand.
It is impossible to hate Apple too much, as here is simply not an infinite amount of hate in the universe.

You want to know why people are pissed about this and seemingly Apple-hating?. Its primarily because of people like you. You are claiming that the design is unique to Apple and that tablets looked different until the iPad came along. But you fail to acknowledge the obvious prior art What I want to know from you is how is it that its OK for Apple to steal the ideas of others yet no one else can make anything that looks remotely close the the design that Apple stole. Where is the outrage from you about Apple stealing design concepts from others? It is this hypocrisy that gets people bent out of shape leaving you to conclude that people are Apple-haters for not drinking the Apple Koolaid. Its very Scientology like.
