Re:Just one more thing... it's an ebook reader.
I don't know that a device like this will ever really work as an ebook reader. The current batch that use Phillips' Electronic Paper technology seem more promising. It's just a lot easier to read for extended amounts of time than an LCD and LCD requires a lot more power.
I've only seen two of these readers on the market (the iRex Iliad and the Sony Librie which seems to be only available in Japan so far), but I'm sure more will follow and the prices will come down. -
Re:who?
Sounds like you should be playing Yoshinoya Beef Bowl.

Re:implementation?

Ha, absolutely no problem for Sony. Plz, check the fate of their technically revolutionar ebook reader Librie:

Re:When will we see this technology in PDAs?
Why do you think it looks terrible?
According to this review it is great. -
e-ink!
I think you are looking for something that uses e-ink. The only one that currently is out on the market is sony's E-book
I know Philips (One of the main minds behind it) isn't ready to mass produce because they want to increase the switching speed (from black to white and inbetween) aswell as adding color.
However I've seen them work, at let me tell you, it's sweet technology. It reads very comfterably. -
Re:Obvious questions are...
...battery life and practical viewable area on a phone.
Well, the obvious question to me is what is new about this?
Is it just because we're talking United States here? If you read through this thread, people are acting as if watching TV on a phone is some kind of new idea. (Your post being one example.) I mean the size of the screen and the battery life are not open questions, because TV-enabled phones have been on the market for over a year (if not more) around the world.
Am I missing something?
