I certainly hope the interior photos are either just a placeholder or a joke, because having a dashboard as ONLY just a 15" landscape monitor mounted on a pole in the center of the car would be the stupidest design, ever!

http://www.dragtimes.com/blog/...I found others like this:

which look FAR more reasonable, but I can't tell if those are really just Model S. -

Re: What's wrong with Windows Server?
Oh really? You think so?
How come the guy who discovered the "hidden" ethernet port (required making his own patch cable to access) received a nasty letter from Tesla saying that they had detected "possible hacking" and advised him to discontinue or risk voiding the warranty?
Most other car makers aren't running network intrusion monitoring in your car and flagging your vehicle for legal nasty-grams as a result.
But yep, that's pretty fucking open, innit?
Why do you tards mistake "Elon Musk is a cool dude who I admire" with "Elon Musk is always on MY side in every issue!"?
They aren't remotely true, or equivalent. Tesla will specifically try to block you from fucking with the computer system in your car, and void the warranty. They might as well weld the hood shut, you're mistaking "has a computer chip embedded in it" with "open."

Re:Gutless?I agree with FatAlb3rt, can you tell me how much horsepower you want?
GM's spreadsheet showing the specs of the 6.6L Duramax diesel list 330HP and 660 lb-ft. http://media.gm.com/us/powertrain/en/product_services/2010/gmna/Spec%20Sheet/Diesel/10_LMM_n.xls
A stock duramax in a 2500 series gm truck seems to be somewhat similar to a stock cavalier.http://www.dragtimes.com/compare2.php?make1=8&model1=148&op1=%3E%3D&year1=2002&stock1=Yes&make2=17&model2=295&op2=%3E%3D&year2=2002&stock2=Yes&make3=17&model3=296&op3=%3E%3D&year3=2002&stock3=Yes&make4=8&model4=152&op4=%3E%3D&year4=2002&stock4=Yes&submitButtonName=Compare!
When you start modifying stock diesel trucks they can go faster.-12.60 seconds at 111.28 mph- John Kennedy's 2002 Chevy (far lane) produced the second best performance of the evening. While the engine is basically untouched and hasn't been taken apart, it is always a top performer. The combination of performance products John is using works, and works well.

GM made locomotive engines from the 1930s until 2005 when the sold off that division. CSX Claims that they can transport 1 ton of freight 436 miles using one gallon of fuel. Depending on if CSX used a General Electric Engine or an EMD to get their figures, Gm might be able to use the knowledge gained from building efficient trains to build cars. -

How about something like This?

Re:Why a CIVIC ?
I would love to convert my old Camaro. Camaro == EV? WTF? Well for those of you who think electric cars are glorified golf carts, it got news for you:
Electric motors have shitloads of torque. The HP comparison with gas engines is not even in the same league. Electric motors are rated at continuous duty, while gas engines are rated at peak. I actually learned this a long time ago with lawn mowers. When I was a kid, we had a 3hp electric mower which could plow through 2 foot high grass without even skipping a beat. Later when I bought my first gas mower, it was 4.5 HP. Cool! This should work great. Bogged down and overheated with 6" grass.
:(The really cool thing about converting my Camaro to EV would be able to do this when merging onto the freeway.
:)BTW, open differentials really suck for a RWD setup. If your BMW don't already have a POSI/limited slip one, make sure you get it. It will make a *BIG* difference.

So does this
Electric motors are known for their torque. It is not that hard to make a fast electric car like this one.

Re:Anti-theft protection
That could also be because taking a Prius for a joyride is a bit of an oxymoron.
"Hey look, we're almost up to 40!!"
Truly spoken by someone who has never driven one. An electric motor has full torque at a stall unlike a gas engine. My car has lots more pep than the Mustang I traded in. The Mustang was a gutless 4 banger with almost as much get up and go as my old VW beetle. The Prius on the other hand will pass people going uphill at freeway speeds. Stock a new Prius will do well over 100 MPH unlike most economy cars.
Here are some drag strip stats for these gutless econo cars.

A massive supply of wasted heat
Every one of us has something we use daily that generates massive supplies of waste heat - our car engines. Instead of releasing it to the atmosphere with radiators and fans, couldn't we convert some of it to electricity with some sort of small turbine? If we did that, we could use it to help power the car with a hybrid motor. Kind of like regenerative braking, but the energy source is constant. I would love to get that extra heat as torque for my Camaro! Maybe I could get on dragtimes.com

Stealth is the way to go.Reverse rice rockets are the best... that's what made the Dodge Omni GLH-S so cool. A clunky-looking little econobox that ran in the low teens at the drag strip.
Here in Hawaii, there are tons of "riced" Hondas and other imports (and "dumbestics" too, I've seen some truly horrible things done to a Dodge Stratus sedan). I've got a bog-standard totally-stock Accord, but maybe someday I'll get one of those gizmos that makes fusion from tiny bubbles (hey, wasn't that a Don Ho song??) and a flux capacitor, and...
Well, I can dream, can't I?
