There are bags out there.....
Recently I went hunting for the right bag for my needs, and found a few deals on a range of bags. On the overkill end I bought a used Briggs & Riley leather briefcase that is large enough to hold every portable computing device I own, or probably ever owned. If it was scruffy, I'd be temped to use it for grocery shopping or Home Depot excursions. Beautiful workmanship. Down the scale a notch I found a Mountain Khakis Field bag. http://www.mountainkhakis.com/products/accessories/bags/field-bag.cfm Along my travels I discovered RedOxx for very reasonably priced aviator duffles, http://www.redoxx.com/Aviator-Duffel-Bags/150/150/deptThose are the excursion bags for hardware shopping. and DuluthTrading: http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/product/fire-hose-field-bag-43129.aspx?kw=bag&processor=content#detailtabs for a durable, though slightly small bag. Duluth, please make one that fits and protects a 10 inch tablet, but not so large that file folders fit in it, because then my girlfriend would appropriate it.

Re:Might be incentive to buy American?
It was the first one I could think of where I was certain that I could find a set of factory tour photos which would be new to people.
I've actually decided that all of my future purchases will be made in the U.S., save where there's a traditional reason behind the importation, so have been collecting links like:
or
I wish that some politician would challenge America's retailers to fill their end caps w/ only Made in the U.S.A. products for the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Re:PokepantsuOrder them on the Internet, credit cards accepted
For those in colder climates, try the heavyweight firehose material pants. Also recommended for winter desert hiking when you can have rain, snow, sleet, and hail in the same 2 hour period.

Re:Don't you hate it when...
From the summary: extremely lightweight Kapton tube hanging in Kevlar fiber
Ok, so the Kapton tubing is about $1 per inch, so the price is a little more than $1, but still
http://www.smallparts.com/products/descriptions/swpt-twpt.cfm
The Kevlar fiber shouldn't be too bad since you can get 72" boot laces for about $3.50

So, for less than $20, I can make a "Mars Weather Indicator".......
Step 1: Buy raw materials
Step 2: Assemble weather indicator
Step 3: Sell for $25 each
Step 4: Profit

Use a Tool Bag for your Tools
Just because they're Geek Tools doesn't mean you don't have the same set of problems as other people who use other kinds of tools. I use this bag and it's worth every penny. I beat it hard and it's as good as new.
Also check out the Port Authority 2 cable kit. It's bit flimsy on build but for occasional use it works and takes the place of many other cables. I gave these as gifts to my clients for christmas. Shop around. Also, charge your phone and stuff over USB to eliminate one more transformer.
Some people I know swear by the Radio Shack multicharger though I haven't tried it yet ($$$). -
Re:one word: manpurse
Then get used to carrying it. You'll look better, honest.
I agree with the need to carry a bag, but we can do better than a purse.
This bag is tough and manly, and more importantly, has lots of pockets. There's one for a laptop too. -
