Re:Exaggerate much?
Last December it got nearly as cold, within a couple of degrees as on January 26, 1972 (exactly how cold depends on whether you're measuring downtown or at the airport).

Re:Exaggerate much?From the Edmonton sun December 15, 2009
Edmonton was the coldest place in North America yesterday morning and the second chilliest in the world. The Edmonton International Airport saw a record low of -46.1 C and -58.4 C with the windchill, outfreezing even the Arctic.

Ignorant thieves ...
We need more incidents like these.
The site was clearly labeled with electrical warning signs, yet the idiot still went ahead with attempting to steal the wiring. Long story short, he probably will pay a little more attention to signs...

Real Taser Stories
I wrote a blog post that asked the question: Can Tasers Kill People? From that point on, scientific literature did the talking for me. http://blog.wired.com/wiredscience/2007/11/scientists-tase.html Shortly after that Taser International sent sixty demand letters to different news agencies that had run stories slamming their product. Luckily, we did not get one. http://www.edmontonsun.com/News/Canada/2007/11/21/4674977.html They appear to be more litigious than the Church of Scientology. Xenu be praised.

Re:What We're DoingYou're serious? The story is four days old and was covered everywhere. I didn't bother sourcing it because I assumed it was common knowledge.
U.S. Soldiers Force Reporters To Delete Photos of Casualties --- Meanwhile the U.S. military is being accused of trying to cover up the civilian deaths. A freelance photographer working for the Associated Press said he took photos of a vehicle where three Afghans had been shot to death inside. An American soldier then took the photographer's camera and deleted the photos. A reporter for Afghanistan's largest television station, Tolo TV, said a US soldier also forced him to delete footage. The soldier reportedly told the journalist "Delete them, or we will delete you."
