Not me
I have no data caps. Not hidden or otherwise. They even ask you "Ready to become a real Netflix addict? (n_n)".
That is what you get for living in a communist country like Belgium where we have competition.

Re: This is why cord-cutting has become common
I have VDSL 100M down 40M up. I bought my own Fritzbox. The downside is that SSH is not supported to the router and although there are some ways around it, it is not as easy as I like it to be.
Interesting to see that a fixed IP adress is a 20 EUR profit for them. It costs the ISP absolutely nothing extra, so that is just 20 EUR in the pocket. And if you compare the home user and business, you see you pay 10 EUR for the hardware in "loan". After 14 months, buying one would have been cheaper.

Re:Going the other way here
In Belgium most have cable TV. Cable providers also will have Internet. Some people (mostly non-Belgians*) will have satelite, because then they have plenty of shows in their language. Now there are also Internet providers that provide TV stations.
One trick to do is to say to your cable provider. People on the phone are trained to do retention, so you are in a great negotiation position. That does not mean cheaper cable, it can mean a year of free cable. And then you just call them again next year, if you do not mind being a cheat.
I do not have any TV as I do not care for it. I also do not pay the phone company directly. Last mile DSL I pay to my provider.
As an extra, I pay now 35 EUR for 100/40 https://www.edpnet.be/en/home/... and by looking at it I am reminded taht I have a fixed number. Cmpletely forgot about that. No idea what it is and I do not even have a fixed phone since 10 years or so.
And to be honest, it is plenty fast. I download faster via torrent than I can watch a HD movie or TV show.
(*) Yes, this includes Arab stations, but also what you will see in e.g. ther Irish Pub where they will have the Hurling(**) on TV. Second best sport (after Autralian Rules Footbal)
(**) Hurling is where they thought "Rugby is nice, but why not give them a stick?" -
Re:Best way to opt out? Streaming Services!
That is expensive. I pay 350EUR per month and that is including the copper. To be fair I do not have the 100/20. I have 30/10 as I am too lazy to do some proper cabeling inside my house. Otherwise I would have 70/20.
Unlimited and fixed phone (that I have yet to set up on my router)
I do not have a fixed IP. That would cost 65EUR per month. Yes, 30EUR for a fixed IP address. And I can still get to my servers with Dynamic DNS that is still free at various places.I do not watch TV anymore. Just not worth it, so I have not moved from one evili company to one that is nice now.
Every 2 to 3 years I look if there are better options available and I changed just now contract with my provider for a cheaper contract and I lost the extra account I needed to pay for copper.
There vare several copper providers I can go to. At least 3 will give unlimited traffic and all ports open. Not sure about the rest.
There is only one cable provider and they are 75EUR if you want unlimited with 20/200 connections:10/100 will give you 200GB per month. They also block several ports that should be open for me.
In Europe this is by no means cheap. Many in other countries will be a lot cheaper.

Re:Mobistar, Belgium
You missed out on EDPnet. You pay about 35 euros, I pay 29.90 euros and 6,85 euros for my telephone line (which I use receive only). I pay 2 euros more, but I also get 2Mbps down and 256kbps upstream extra and half the surcharge for extra bw (25 cents per Gb). This has a max cap at 60Gb/month though.

Not everyone has unlimited access.
Well, you might find that extremely limited (and it is) but it isn't so strange for me. In Belgium the major ISPs (Belgacom, Telenet) allow about 10Gb quota per month, with 5 euro per 5Gb for extra quota. This is expensive! Downloading a movie or even a linux distribution DVD costs you several euros on bandwidth alone.
Minor ISPs use this a nice way into the market. (For example, mine allows me 20Gb default with a 0.25 euro cents per Gb over that upto 60Gb per month).
Offcourse, all limits are openly advertised...
