Tons of free music out there
the best site I discovered is http://www.ektoplazm.com/ Obviously Trance/Goa/Spy/Etc is not everyone’s cup of tea but there are tons of net labels out there that license their music CC.
I discovered http://www.embarrassed.nl/ on Ektoplazm and their Tales of the Coin Spinner would rival any commercial electronic music release especially in the mide/late 90's style.

Why would anyone bother listening to radio music
these days when there is more free and independent music on the internet. When I found http://www.ektoplazm.com/ I was lost in there for week discovering tons of free EM. Yes not everyone cup of tea but its like shopping for cd to discover new artists except you get to hear the music first and not waste your money.

Re:hmmm
Or don't support any of it and get your music at places like Ektoplazm http://www.ektoplazm.com/ then you don't have to give a fuck about any problems some artist might have with entertainment companies.

Re:Why a player?

Re:Study does not support conclusion in summary
Chris Liebing releases a 1-2hr track by different artists, (himself included) every Monday, all mostly similar to the schranz genre he's known for. He talks for a moment at the beginning, midpoint and end. Registration was recently mandated, which I avoid by downloading directly from the release directory; just decrement/increment the 000-padded release number for past/future releases. The current track is http://daten.clr.net/pod/CLRSR170.mp3
One of the artists featured on CLR, Speedy-J, has a page on SoundCloud* with seven lengthy single-track sets available for direct-download. The nine-hour 2010 NYC set is particularly good, though it takes a while to get going; the intro is a good thirty minutes long. =)
Ektoplazm features hundreds of full-CDs, all immediately and freely downloadable as MP3, FLAC and/or WAV, as well as streamed. Most electronica genres are represented here.
* SoundCloud is a good source of truly free music of all genres, though I can't speak to the quality of non-electronic genres. I have no qualms about file-sharing copyrighted works, but I find it fortunate that RIAA seems to have a particular disinterest in electronic music, though not for lack of its available quantity or quality.

Re:Too late for me
Well its not that easy. First there really isn't any good entertainment content on YouTube unless you're 13 years old and get a laugh out of retards.Gimme some good Sci Fi like http://www.pioneerone.tv/ (Which I donated twice to) and I'll watch I started my boycott by not going to the movie's and I haven't been to one movie since before Iron Man 2. I just couldn't spend $40-50 between me an my son to watch some shitty movie which I might as well buy a big screen tv and just buy the DVD's at pawnshops.
I did buy the Louis CK show that he release and it was worth every penny http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/22/louis-ck-makes-1-million-in-12-days-proves-that-drm-free-conte/. I haven't bought commercial music for ages but I still do download old stuff and have about 400 cd still. My tastes changed a little and I get quite a bit of music from http://www.ektoplazm.com/

Re:Ask these guys
They use DreamHost, referral link (if you like the music and want to help them) here
-
Ask these guys
http://www.ektoplazm.com/ The site and downloads are never slow and they have tons of music hosted on there.
-
Google needs to scour for sites like these
Plenty of good music out there that doesn't cost much and produced by people who actually want to make music for music sakes.
-
Re:Does anybody actually buy music anymore?
Don't buy any more media anymore unless its second hand or download from sites like http://www.ektoplazm.com/
-
With all of its power
Google should go scouting for GOOD music on their own. Plenty of music available for free like on http://www.ektoplazm.com/ I'm sure those artists would be more then happy to be offered distribution by Google and getting paid properly by the G-Lable
-
Re:It's quite simple
And then you have these artists http://www.ektoplazm.com/ I'll take these guys and send them more donations anytime over some has been who gave away his/her right to the their music so that the record companies can tell us "Won't someone think about the artists, they're starving"
-
But as a Ccanadian
I pay a levy to the artists for the privilege of music piracy. Whether the artists get the money after wards, not my problem. Thank you, come again.
If you want to help stop piracy only download CC licensed music from site like http://www.ektoplazm.com/

Re:Missing the point...
>The real damage caused by piracy aren't the works which were created and then failed to produce return on investment (this is all to easy to do without piracy), the real damage is done in works which are never created in the first place due to the perception that piracy would make them financially irrelevant.
Really look at this site. Might not be your type off music but the quality on here is on par or better then commercial releases.
http://www.ektoplazm.com/section/free-music
If someone doesn't create works because they are afraid or piracy then they have the wrong business plan and were gonna be taken to the cleaners by the record labels anyways. Either way they will be bumped by someone more ambitious and and a chance taker.

Re:Don't stop there.
Or just support independent/creative commons artists. I was living in and out of the box for a while until in the last week I discovered tons of free music here http://www.ektoplazm.com/section/free-music/ and here http://www.jamendo.com/en/ and metlabels http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&ei=nsrJS5TbF4jMsgOJr4XxAg&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&ved=0CAwQBSgA&q=netlabels&spell=1
