Want a good review instead?
Try Empire, a British film magazine that has been panicking over the Hitchhiker's movie since it was first announced, and has now released their full review.
4 stars (out of 5) and the quickie write up says:
Mostly harmless. A very British, very funny sci-fi misadventure that's guaranteed to win converts. Want to go to The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe now, please.
They admit it's not perfect, but their review's a damn sight more positive than the linked one.
As we said, those hardcore Hitchhikers out there have little to worry about. Although they should be warned that the movie's faithfulness means all its best jokes will be very familiar. For them, it's more a case of basking comfortably in the nostalgia than laughing out loud. But if you're new to all this, and have no idea about the significance of towels, or what a whale and a bowl of petunias have in common, then, boy, are you in for a treat...

Jude Law wants to play OzymandiusAnd Jude Law wants to play Ozymandius.
"Darren Aronofsky? I'm on the phone NOW!" said Law, clearly excited. "Adrian Veidt, King of Kings!" And then, as if to show off his Watchmen fanboy credentials, he whispered conspiratorially. "I'm tattooed with Rorschach, did you know that?"

Flip Reverse It
Those are GAME-BASED movies not MOVIE-BASED games.
so then is everyone looking forward to the Doom Movie?
Max Payne is the one i'm really looking forward too - that game is just destined for John Woo greatness (and may pull him out that creative slump that he's been in recently..).

Re:For anyone bothering to take the time...
wheter intentional or not, the W's have created in Neo a fictional Christ figure with the potential to reinvigorate philosophical ponderings in the real world
In a story in Empire magazine when Reloaded was released, one of the Matrix crew (Gaeta?) said their goal was to show "the evolution of superhero" and that the Christ motif was not accidental. After seeing Revolutions, I'd have to say, it was intentional, and it worked pretty well. And a lot of people who're complaining about loose ends not being tied up need to lighten up a little. -
Philips TV/PC MonitorsCheck out the Philips 150MT (review here) TV/PC monitor.
I've read a recent review of this model in Empire Magazine (UK) and it sounds like a dream.
Check out some of the features:- concealed manual controls
- rear SCART socket, S-Video input and XGA (1024 by 768) PC input, stereo audio in and PC audio in, side headphones socket
- resizable picture-in-picture capability (watch TV while working on your PC without the need for a TV tuner card)
- 2 x 2.5W Nicam stereo integral speakers
Also reviewed were the similar Bush LC-15 (£700, 2/5 stars) and the LG RE-15LA30 (£700, 4/5 stars).
Hope that helps. -
In related news.....this article at Empire Online indicates that the Original Trilogy DVDs are still some way off. Mainly so that Lucas can do more fiddling with the trilogy, including shooting brand new footage. It's all from Rick McCallum, so it's probably true.
I'm betting he's waiting until after episode 3, to add what would be serious prequel spoilers to the second half of the "hexology", or whatever the term is ("hextet"?), since I seriously doubt it's going to be a nonology anymore.

Re:Don't be. (Lucas took it all back)
According to a snippet in Empire Magazine which i can't be bothered digging out, Lucas visited the gangs of new york set and verbally took back his comments. He was stunned by the detail, and realised instantly that this was still impossible in the digital domain. Something along the lines of "who built your sets? he's cheap (-er than ILM), and good!" iirc.
For example, the digital scenery in AOTC etc still uses vast stretches of similar material (brickwork/colour etc). There just isn't the possibility for rich detail and zillions of textures and objects. Not yet, anyhow.
My point being, digital is great for the clean, smart look of the SW cities, but useless for 19th century New York. Who knows when it'll be possible, but i say Scorcese's still on the money.

The tattoos
The Yahoo article doesn't mention this, but this month's print issue of Empire Magazine did. The Fellowship actors' tattoos all depict the Tengwar symbol for 9. (Tengwar being Tolkien's Elvish alphabet; you can see what it looks like here.)

Re:That lasted a long time...
They've been telling people for a while; it was mentioned in this month's (print) issue of Empire Magazine as well. Maybe what they swore never to tell was where on their bodies the tattoos are located (which he refused revealing to Reuters)? On the other hand, who would want to think about tattoos in funny places on old british actors?

Yes, there will be Rush hour 3
I had a good time watching this one and hope Katz is right about it being a franchise (something they elude to in the outtakes.)
