Re:Anyone remember a Mac one from 99/2000?

(I have no idea if it works with newer hardware/drivers, but I am pretty sure this is what you are talking about.)

Re:Multiple Wifi Cards!??I have the Belkin 802.11b USB adapter and it has official drivers from Belkin for Mac and the chipset manufacture has good Linux drivers. It has REALLY excellent range, it can pull in just about anything my Cisco 350 card can. Also, the airport cards all support a promiscuous mode, so you can always use them to scan.
I doubt this tool will make it's way to OSX anytime soon, but OSX(and OS9) has EtherPEG. When I run it in my dorm I get a nice porn collage.

Along similar linesAlthough only useful for fun, and not serious network analysis, have a play with Etherpeg
EtherPEG works by capturing unencrypted TCP packets off your local network, collecting packets into groups based on TCP connection (determined from source IP address, destination IP address, source TCP port and destination TCP port), reassembling those packets into order based on TCP sequence number, and then scanning the resulting data for byte sequences that suggest the presence of JPEG or GIF data.
Or in other words, fire it up, plug in a data projector and watch everyone's porn. Interesting side-effect: It makes (most) people a lot more careful what they browse if they know the results will be displayed for everyone's amusement. Mercifully, it's also a lot less likely these days to see The Goatse flying across the screen.

Re:WiFi Image Capture
If you have a mac then there is etherpeg. This will do what you want for any interface you want, including wireless. I ran it once at a conference for a laugh because I was bored. As the large JPGs of Japanese girls in swimsuits started filling my screen I decided it was a pretty poor idea!

Re:wardriving of the future?
Stuart Cheshire (Creator of Bolo and the Apple's Rendezvous protocol) wrote a cool hack for MacHack 2000 that shows all JPEGs and GIFs sent over a 802.11b wireless network.

Security education opportunity
Set up a public terminal that is running EtherPEG, and pretty soon people will get the message about untrusted public networks...

Re:Monitoring - Graphics Display TAP
I do recall mention of an interesting hack on Slasdot. I believe it was running at networld/Interop or perhaps a linux world conference. Basically, it grabbed jpegs and gifs off the ethernet which were floating by as part of other peoples surfing and displayed them on a large display
It's Etherpeg (http://www.etherpeg.org/) (link for the brave) from MackHack 2000. -

Re:Apple's AirPort traffic is encrypted
Um, yeah, and the encryption is undone at the card. You can set the card in promiscious mode, and you can sniff the network. Its as simple as that. Check out www.etherpeg.org for more info, and source on how to do it.

Re:damnProgram for snooping on porn. It works especially well in college dorms.;) EtherPeg
EtherPeg is a Macintosh program that will sniff an AirPort network and display any and all GIFs and JPEGs it finds. Comes with source.

Packet sniffer for JPEGs via 802.11
etherpeg.org have source code for an applicaiton that sniffs JPEGs and GIFs from 802.11 nets and draws them on the screen - great fun in public areas running AirPort.
