Filecloud
I'm happy with Filecloud for file sharing. It has a couple of free versions and a "premium" version that's $4.95/month. The quota isn't as large as I might like, only 500MB on the premium version, but it uses the open standard WebDAV, so I can mount my folder on my KDE desktop. My friends and family don't have to have any account in order to download my pictures and stuff. Filecloud works as advertised. I didn't know I needed it until (1) I bought a digital camera and (2) I found that the premium subscription is included in the monthly fee I pay Speakeasy for broadband service.

How can Live be improved?
...get rid of kids like this. Or, Microsoft could start offering Parenting seminars.
[You have to sign up for a free account to d/l the file, but it's worth it.] -
Re:GamersI would THINK it would be a huge factor for home PC users.
I'll tell you why I stopped using WinXP even though I have been playing PC games for 20 years now... The 2 factors that drove me away from XP are:
- I was completely fed up of CONSTANTLY maintaining the Anti-virus/spyware/malware software up-to-date, and STILL get a dozen of so of them every month - I have an computer illiterate family
:'(- IMHO, the quality of PC Games has dropped substantially in the past , oh say 5 years. I used to play PC games because I felt they were usually far more creative and intelligent than any console game: god games (CIV!!!), 1st person shooters (they used to be PC-only before...), simulators ( Apache Longbow, Hind, whatever). But ever since EA has turned its evil eye towards PCs, I came to realize that PCs have started producing games that are fundamentally the same ones as the ones you get on consoles... So the PC as a gaming machine had just become, in my eyes, an expensive console. At the same time, you can see how much better consoles have become in the same period of time, which made my shift even easier.
- Oh and 3- Computer games have become obscenely ressource-hungry, usually with no graphical justification *cough*C&C Generals*cough*. I don't know if this is due to lazy coding and rushed jobs, or malice due to collusion between hardware manufacturers and software producers *cough*EAINTELWINDOWS*cough*. I'm betting on the former, but I have come to expect anything in this industry...
And gaming under Linux just keeps on getting better with time, now with Quake IV http://www.filecloud.com/files/file.php?file_id=2
2 97 binaries available, I believe this is the first step towards mainstream acceptance of Linux as a gaming machine. -

Is it just me...
or do the 32-bit screenshots actually look better than the 64-bit ones?
I am referring to these screenshots:

Re:64 bit _Really_ necessary?
Compare this: 32-bit image vs. 64-bit image.
Seriously, this looks like a pile of BS. Unless it was running on full CPU (which is stupid and not sensible for real-world situations), the differences between those screenshots should be handled almost entirely on the GPU. The difference between 32 and 64 bit shouldn't really affect a lighting effect like that. As for the texture resolution, that's pretty much memory bound...
(Not to mention that the graphics in these screenshots are not "advanced" by today's standards. It's pretty ugly.) -

Re:THIS Is Why I Hate Windows!!
I don't think it's QT - the file may be corrupted. When I tried the first link and it's mirror it hung Firefox and Safari on my Mac at the same place. But since it's Unix I could kill the process and try again
:P
Then I used this link (you have to click through some BS to get to the file) it worked perfectly:

Re:torrent test
OK, that one didn't seem to work. Try this one instead. I've put myself as a network seed in addition to router.bittorrent.com, which I suspect is down. However, this means that once I drop out of the swarm, other people won't join unless they are already a part of the global network. Tracking duties will still be shared, we'll see if this one works.

Audio interview with Leeroy Jenkins
check out the downloads section for Radio iTG www.radioitg.com (casting for all kinds of games online). Their weekly MMO show Weapon of Choice had a nice long interview with Leeroy talking about all kinds of subjects. I believe it was Episode 17 (free registration required to dl, in mp3 format). Great interview, dude is quite a character.
