Re:But that isn't possible

Where is my flying car?
I read TFA and it's absolutely correct. Tesla's contribution to the development of science and technology has been FAR overrated lately.
Edison's contribution, OTOH, was significant. He didn't "invent" that many things, he made them practical.
We had flying cars forty years ago. So why can't you buy one? Because they are not practical.
Everything that Tesla invented was like the Mizar Flying Pinto. Kind of interesting to look at, wonderful if it were true, but totally outside of practical reality.

Re:Wow... thirty years ago...
In 1984 opened a pharmacy servicing mostly welfare recipients and needed a computer to efficiently bill the State for claims, Looked at the Osborne saw it was a dead end and bought a Compaq Portable istead. I thought because it was portable I'd be able to take it home to play around with and maybe teach the kids a little coding.. The Compaq was basically the same hardware as an IBM PC but in a luggable case, and I do mean luggable, as John Cleese once compared it to a fish with the Compaq weighing i at 28 pounds. At 28 pounds I didn't bring it home a lot.

BZZZT, Wrong!
Because I was driving a motorcycle, I was able to react far more quickly than in a car. If I had been in a car
I call BS on this one. Every biker I know says a car handles quicker under emergencies than a bike. You can find demonstrations of this fact on the internet.
Take, for instance, the Imola circuit, where both Formula 1 and motorcycle races have been held. Fastest lap on four wheels: Fernando Alonso in 2006 at 1:24.569. Fastest lap on two wheels: Michel Fabrizio in 2009 at 1:47.736. There are several other circuits that have both car and bike races, compare lap times on any of those and you will see that bikes are *much* worse on the curves.
You don't really have a bike, do you?

Re:A million Euros is peanuts
Give the money to Hammond and May, they might just get that Robin Reliant into space.

Re:some subject
DD is probably the best bet for discarded/ebay'ed drives. I can't think of anyone who has the time or resources to dig up my data. If you're a fortune 500 company, or an international drug/arms/people/whatever smuggler, then you probably want to just go ahead and shred the drive. That way you don't have to worry about Joe skipping out early on Friday and forgetting to wipe the out-going CEO's drive.
For the rest of us, just think about the economics of it; what criminal organization has access to a lab full of electron microscopes and has the time and money to search discarded drives for credit card information? Perhaps a large government has access to these resources, but once again, unless you're really up to no good or have a large company, why would anybody bother?
Thank goodness for a suddenoutbreakofcommonsense here.
