    A few players have something a bit like this: Album shuffle. Where it plays one album from start to finish, then shuffles on to a new random album.

    The only places I've seen that, though, is in Foobar (win) and Rockbox (for iPod 5.5 and down, and a few other portable players)

    Seriously, it has to be the most awesome audio player I had ever used, and Linux doesn't even offer an alternative (other than running it on WINE) that comes close to the pure awesomeness of it. I like Rhythmbox and whatnot, but seriously, Foobar2000 could do it all. I mean, it even cured a cold I had once!

    I strongly suggest trying FooBar2000 http://foobar2000.com/
    I have loaded up the playlist with 15,000 songs, and it only used 2MB of RAM!!!

    There are extensive plugin's available, it is compatable with shoutcast.

    FooBar takes a very minimalistic approach to it's UI. You can add bell's & whistle's & visualizations if you want.

    You mean like foobar2000? A no frills music player started by people who left Nullsoft when Winamp became bloated and dropped any focus on music playing infavor of skins?

    If your on windows, I highly suggest trying out foobar2000. It does a good job with playback of most audio formats under the sun and is very customizable.
