Re:Did anyone else read the WHOLE page?
For the record, the twins page was an April Fool's Day Joke done by Shannon from BME. However, so many people believed it that he had to put up a page saying it was fake! The photo on that page is Shannon's backyard too.
All fake people, no one is swapping limbs for the hell of it just yet. However, cutting parts off happens quite a bit. -

Useful applications #69
This could revolutionize the chastity belt business! Just think, I am away from home, and the girlfriend has that spankin' new Nano-nookie chastity belt with the Cock-blocker(tm) microchip ID system on it. No other guy can even think of trying to get into her holy of holies now!
Better yet, the ID system can be easily used and never lost- all you have to do is embed the chip(s) in one of several convenient body piercings- like a Dydoe, a Prince Albert, or a Frenum! Proximity to the Nano-nookie opens the gates to heaven, and next thing you know, you are knocking on heaven's door!

Monitoring your kids heroin usage, gun usage, etcThe article totally missed the point. Any parent irresponsible enough to allow a kid to surf the net either accompanied by an adult, or solo is simply an unfit parent.
If I allowed my kid to take heroin, the authorities would quite rightly lock me up and take my child away. Likewise if I allowed my kid to play around with my semi-automatic rifles the same thing would happen. It should be the same for the Internet.
The Internet is primarily a source of porn for maladjusted socially inept males. It has a secondary use as an information resource, but let us not forget, over 74% of downloads and over 80% of net traffic is porn related.
Now I am not going to argue that porn is wrong. (Although I do believe that only warped and sick individuals would seek to degrade God's gift to mankind by commercializing it). I am just going to say that to a developing mind, seeing pictures like those often found on this website cannot be a force for good.
A famous rabbi once described TV as like having an open sewage pipe pouring into your living room.
The Internet is like having the whole sewage works. I mean why would a child be looking at depraved debased unamerican and unChristian sites such as this one or this or most sickeningly of all this?
The answer is to make it a federal offense for a parent to allow a minor in his/her care to access the Internet. Its the only way we can continue the war on porn, and save our children from images such as this.
Normally I would not advocate such extreme measures, but if just one child is saved from viewing pornography such as above, it will be worth whatever minor freedoms we would have to give up. -
Lateral Discovery?I'd *really* like to see lateral discovery added to this (props to matt@csbgroup.org). Did 1,000 people have links to theFatProject ? I want to know what pages the majority of those linkers have in common. Maybe they'd all have links to the Body Modification Ezine. Or perhaps 83% of them linked to the NSA parody site.
This would be highly cool for finding eclectic stuff. Kinda like, well, the lateral discovery in Napster.

Human bones are more affordable...
There's a morbid little web site that I've kept in my bookmarks for a while just because I like to pop in from time to time to see what kind of stuff they've got for sale... From their web site: "We specialize in unusual skulls, especially violent death victims and deformities: bullet holes, axe marks, beating deformities, elephant men, pinheads, hydrocephalics -- you get the idea." Human Skulls For Sale has some pretty funky stuff that is "reasonably" priced.. real human skulls.. some of 'em deformed from disease.. some of 'em deformed from violence... they have a couple of former stuntman skulls as well as one with a bullet hole in it.. most of 'em in the $300 - $700 range. They also sell complete articulated human skeletons... The most bizarre sounding thing is the "Bejewelled monks skulls from Tibet. Starting at $4000." - I wish they'd post some pictures of those.
:) That would sure beat the hell out of those "coffee table books" :) -
even more extreme...Spidergod5 may well deserve some curiosity (or correspondance if you're a fellow juggler), however if you really want to point-laugh-and-gag, the things you're going to be looking for are at BME. (caution, extremely disgusting photos can be found here)
They include things like surgical alteration, nullification, and extreme tattoos, though if you want really hardcore wierdness, you're going to have to go to BME/Hardcore.-Violence never settles anything -- Genghis Khan

For those interested in more...
There is a web site dedicated to body modification of all sorts... there are people who have done things to even make this a bit tame.
Body Modification E-Zine, at www.bme.freeq.com, is dedicated to this.
A warning before you look, however - it's not a place for the squeamish. There is some really odd stuff, especially in the extreme section.
--- -
Related story...This reminded me of a cruel.com site a while back, regarding two twins who had massive body modifications.
too bad it was a hoax.
-
More fun stuff...
While you're at it, how about coral implants in your skull?

Pictures Of Him And A Bio
Here's a time magazine article,an interview , his bio.
Bad Command Or File Name -
Body mods
If you are interested in body modification, please visit bme.freeq.com. On a side note, the lizard man has been around for quite some time...why is it making headlines on
/. of all places?
Anyway, what mods do my fellow geeks have? Ive got a few biomechanical tats, plus both nipples pierced (14 guage), 16 guage navel, 10 guage PA, and a few safety pins in my eyebrow ;) -
Re:You live in a society
A swastica was a modified cross, specifically designed for the nazi cause, therefore it was purely a hate symbol.
Bzzt, try again.
The swastica is a religious symbol, not a cross, though. The main difference between the one we all know and hate and the old religious one is that one is turned backwards.
http://www.bme.freeq.com/people/m anwoman/index.htmlis a little page with some guy who thinks he saw god or something, but along with the stuff that he has to say, there's a bit about the history of this symbol.
Little quote: "I encountered enormous resistance to my use of the swastika. Most people who had been born since World War II had never heard of any sacred swastikas or good luck swastikas. Only a few of the old folks remembered it. How could I overcome the enormous prejudice against it that was reinforced by the media constantly?"
have a good one -
Re:We've got prior art!!!
He's not the only one. Check out BME for an example. If you do a search for "barcode tattoo" on google you get 76 hits.
It's a stupid idea anyway. A subdermal microship (like those used for pets or small children (no kidding!)) is much more effective, since it's less obtrusive and can hold way more data. -
oh, you mean this?
