I reported this site to netcraft and they send me an email back confirming I found a phishign site. This site was shut down a few minutes later and the domain was put into REGISTRAR-HOLD

By the way if you are the first to discover a phish site netcraft sends you a present,. still waiting for mine :)

So will this mean that if I have to pay a levy on IPS servies, Im now gonna be allowed to run my shoutcast station with out having to pay any other royalties since I already paid for the right to redistribute/download music online.? Im mean if I'm giving SOCAN my money Id better be getting something for it. So what does email have to do with music piracy?

Check out this lovely Canadian trick Tariff 22 out My personal view on this is that I shouldnt have to pay anything to webcast my music as long as I have bought the original cd/tape/record and use those as my music source. The RIAA, record labels and artists should be happy how much exposure they get throught internet radio stations. Some of these station that a running out of someone basement have 100's and 1000's daily listeners! And from experience these listeners can get pretty loyal. I should dig out my old guestbook entries were people discovered my station and went out and bought records/cd of the music I play.

I also have talked to a couple of artists that I play on my stream and they were happy that someone was actually playing their music which you wont hear anywere on regural terrestrial stations or unless its played at a rave that has an old skool theme

Ogg and Icecast2 is were its at for streaming. At 56K stereo my Icacast/ogg stream rocks on Shoutcast/Mp3 at the same bit rate. Though I must admit Shoutcast is far more stable then Icecast2 (at least on Windowns it is) never tried it on Linus.

I've had a simillar experience on a web site whemn i posted that someone should kill Geroge Dubyah Bush. Apperantly a few days later the SS contacted the website and tried to get my personal info even though Im in Canada and the website but part of the website also has a US division. The website owners contcted me and told me that teh SS wanted me to call them and explain myself. I as like yah i'll get right on that :P. Those SS bastard even had the balls to give them a non toll free phone number. Like WTF?
