Duh, PU Foam!
You know, nothing says stylish like a polyurethan foam case. I hear they're big with the ladies too!

Case? What Case?Even for word processing, you will need a decent size ram, hard drive, motherboard, ethernet port, case.

Re:Why waste $3.00..
you can get a can of Expanding Foam for $2.79 at Home Depot. Just stick the nozzle into the fan grille opening and fill 'er up till foam comes out the floppy drive slot and all 8 corners.
You mean like this guy did? -
Slick
This is pretty nice, but still not as good looking as this one.

Re:Am I missing something?
A wooden case isn't as crazy as encasing a system in what the modder describes as an inflammmable blob of foam. Granted, the material used was indeed non-flammable, but would you trust someone who would write, "It's heat resistant up to 100C and more or less in-flammable (ie. fireproof)," to do your case mod?
I find it startling that he still hasn't discovered the error, even after the initial burst of publicity. -
Re:[Pun about thinking outside the box]
You may want to have a look at the 'caseless' computer. Dunno how cool it runs, but it appears to run.

V 0.9 already been done
This is probably a good start...

The solution
You could always go this route. I think it would solve the watertight/vibration sensitivity issues, plus i'd be willing to bet it floats too!

Never have to leave?
Now all you'd have to do is mod the tub with a computer and wireless internet, and you'd never have to leave!
Good thing that the NHP 200NC "case" floats (although not completely waterproof)... might destroy the look, though. Now if only I could fit this thing into my parent's basement... oh yeah, and could afford it. -

This guy's got issues
Ok, the foam is an obvious issue, but..
He's running Windows (cheap shot)
It's an Apple HDD (look carefully at the label)
Is that a Voodoo in there? (check out that classic loopback cable)
That's an old NIC (planning on using a transceiver?)
Yeah, I know his specs are listed at the top of the page, but I guess it was just kinda fun to point the out. -
