Re:Goozex is better
I use gametz.com. No transaction fee, just shipping. Two successful trades for me so far, great experience. As a noob, I send first, then they send. If both traders have good rep, they send at the same time. Beats the hell out of giving GameStop undeserved (IMO) money.

Re:Ikaruga?
For being a "big shmup fan", I'm mildly surprised you haven't heard of "TATE" mode. Here's a list for every major console.
It was probably a mistake on their part to call it "fullscreen", but people do use this feature. A lot of crappy US ports(like "Mobile Light Force 2") will omit it, probably out of fear for "idiot-protection" lawsuits. -
System Shock 2 - One of the best games of all-timeSystem Shock 2 is widely regarded as one of the best games ever made, both by gamers and gaming publications. It is one of my favorite games of all-time; second only to Deus Ex.
For those who haven't played the game, I highly recommend checking it out; it remains an amazing and compelling gaming experience to this day. The game is an FPS/RPG hybrid, and it isn't necessary to have played the first game to understand or enjoy it.
Some used copies of the game can be found at GameTZ (http://gametz.com/aGames/PC/System+Shock+2.html)
. Alternatively, the game routinely shows up on popular BitTorrent sites. After you get ahold of the game, you'll want to download the excellent Rebirth mod (http://perso.wanadoo.fr/etienne.aubert/sshock/ssh ock_rebirth.htm) and upgraded texture pack (http://shtup.home.att.net/), which both really help the game to look much less dated. (Some torrents include the mods, as they're considered almost essential.)I'm not sure if this post will imspire anyone to check the game out, but I hope I've helped add the game to at least one gamer's all-time favorites list.

Re:Arrrrr
Or...
Maybe they are doing it legitimately at Game Trading Zone, where people can trade their used video games. -
Re:Video games...You can save a lot on games by trading used games too (similar to half.com).
Oh, and by the way, I run one of the more successful game trading websites: Game Trading Zone
I trade a lot of games and DVDs on-line.

Where you can get the old games
- The LucasArts Archives (Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis)
- Game Trader Zone (place to trade old/new games)

Re:Leaps of faith?Yup, I still buy PC games from comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.marketplace. The prices are low and the people are generally honest, and the dishonest ones are quickly outed. Plus, let's face it, used PC games generally go for about $15, so there's little incentive for ripoff artists to operate. Usenet people generally have much greater respect for one another than joeblow4421@hotmail.com has for anniesmom44@aol.com.
One could also check out specialty websites like Game Trading Zone, where users trade games they don't play anymore for ones they want. The system matches the user up with other users that have compatible needs, so a trade can be possibly negotiated. Pretty neat, and the system has enough users on it to make the matching effect worthwhile.
There are many, many ways to pull dirty tricks on ebay, false feedback from dummy accounts is only one of them. One guy in particular took off with $300,000 in auction profits after establishing a stellar reputation with ebay's feedback system. Ebay's real problem is its success...it's too big. Once a system of any kind gets that big, it begins to be able to support predators, and the sharks come out and start eating people alive. I used to buy things from ebay frequently, but now I only use it as a last resort for otherwise-unfindable items like videos...the non-censored version of "Weird Al" Yankovic's UHF (the comedy channel version SUCKS), and Penn & Teller Get Killed.

Re:Some interesting info I got from AIM'ing the gu> Apparently there aren't any sites with lists of tons of old games out there.
