Re:Did the ECJ ...
As a Dutchie, can I just mention here that the site in question is GeenStijl.nl (no style), rather than GreenStijl as TFS suggests.

Re:Paltry
Not only can a paper voting system be hacked, incorrect or even malicious handling of paper ballots can have an effect on voting. Weblog Geenstijl.nl organized a popular count of the vote for the EU elections on Thursday in the Netherlands. The government was not allowed by EU rules to release the total result before end of voting on sunday, but the Netherlands voted on Thursday. Because of Dutch law, an individual is allowed to observe the vote and can request a reading of the results.
Observed anomalies: voters having voted for a party and the party having 0 votes in the results. Or a counter leaving the room with ballots and returning again (with the ballots). No possibility to check what happened with those ballots during her absence.
From previous counts I have reports of tallies being added "to the wrong column" which resulted in votes for candidate #1 going to #2, votes for #2 going to #3, etc.
It bugs me that there are apparently one-count-only errors. If you count again, you would have caught those errors. -

Re:That's really insane!
This is obvious and even the Dutch supreme court recognised this.
The point in this case is that the hyperlink is not to a public site, but to a semi-private site that you can only find with the hyperlink (GeenStijl, who will appeal this ruling, point out that google does index filefactory).
This is certainly no general ruling that hyperlinks to infringing content are illegal or constitute infringement in general. The question is whether the hyperlink can be seen as an act of publishing, e.g. opening up to the public something that was not publicly accessible before. Obviously, hyperlinks in general point to material that is already publicly available, so this does not apply.

Re:Shooting bombs? No bombs trigger when shot?
the evidence suggests they were using it the way everyone else does, as flares at night to light up targets so the wrong building/person isn't shot
Oh really? Take a look at this image http://www.geenstijl.nl/archives/images/fosforgroot.jpg . It's just one of many examples of white phosphorus being used in densely populated urban areas. The Israelis were using them in an air-burst mode, maximizing the risk to civilians, rather than the safer ground burst. If the goal was smoke cover, then there were far less dangerous alternatives available.
As is the question of whether an errant bomb/missile hit a school in a war zone (mistakes happen and collateral damage is tragic, but it's not like it's done on purpose).
The IDF has a long track record of doing very nasty things quite on purpose. The whole strategy of dealing with the Palestinians is one of collective punishment. A few years back some Palestinian protesters were killed by a tank shell and the Israeli spokeswoman told the media that they were only firing tank shells near to the crowd to warn them (she managed to keep a straight face too). When a country starts firing tank shells for crowd control, you have to seriously question whether they care about civilian lives at all. If you listen to the testimonies of ex-Israeli soldiers (e.g. Breaking the Silence) you will hear many counts of how innocent civilians are targeted. Palestinian lives are viewed as worthless.

Something similar happened in The Netherlands
Something similar happened in The Netherlands, although on a smaller scale. Some company ran a contest to name a new type of potato chips (en-uk crisps) and internetters voted en masse for the name "WithoutStyle", after the similarly named blog. In the end, the company bended to the pressure, although for a short time only.

Qtrax is a hoax to gather e-mail addresses
According to Dutch "shock-log" Geenstijl it seems the software is only being used to gather e-mail addresses and not downloading music. View the story at http://www.geenstijl.nl/mt/archieven/1181231.html

An observation
It is funny that while generally a lot of American people I know think that Holland is a great country, the politicians or higher-ups or whatever you like to call them seem to think we're doing it all wrong. A pretty damn bold example is Bill O'Reilly, who literally said his worst fear would be America becoming The Netherlands (you can find the clip here: http://dump.geenstijl.nl/mediabase/5070/14fc156b/
i ndex.html). This made a lot of us think "who the hell does this guy think he is?"
So my question to working Americans is: why? Sure, if you only visit Amsterdam Zuid-Oost, de Wallen, and some desolate trainstation at 3am you might get the impression that this country is a genuine mess. If you walk through the tulip fields, sightseeing windmills and gazing at happy people with wooden shoes and funny hats, your impression will be completely different...
How come some supposedly "leading figures" in the United States are like this? Why exactly are they afraid of becoming - a bit more like - Holland? I think it'll be good for American citizens to gain some of the freedoms and perks that we have. Because from a Holland point of view, people in the US are pretty much strained by their government in whatever they want to do. -

Re:Here goes...
What would you do? There's really no good answer here, but would you just sit back and let your people be killed and kidnapped?
There is a time when payback ends and it starts to become a bloodbath. When you have seen images like these on the news I think most people will agree with me that Israel has had their pound of flesh, and then some.I don't know what I would do. Thankfully I'm not a member of this war. But this, this isn't what any religeous person would want to do to their fellow man.

Re:This is pure STUPID
You are not going to stop teenagers having sex, they are progammed to do that. If you want to lower unwanted pregnancy you should educate children about sex and hand out condoms. To me this is so obvious that i have problems understanding what all the fuzz is about.
If you want to see the scene you can download a movie here

The sex is not as abusive as the rest of the gameplay, you are supposed to give her pleasure. It is probably the most female friendly part of the game ;)
Silly part is that he keeps his clothes on while she is naked.
