A Bar ?
I get a network error on the original Vance Haemmerle’s 1997 VAXBar website, but in any case, converting an old DEC VAX into a bar is awesome to mine eyes.
I found a reference here.

Re:Awesome
As a side note, I've always wanted to take an old mini fridge and turn it into a computer case.
How about a wet bar?

Re:It's not dead yet
Actually, since the NT Kernel was heavily influenced by some coders (and code) from DEC...
We're talking about UNIX and VMS.
Welcome back to 1987, only with smaller boxen that fit with your decor and have slicker UIs. Oh, and the games are better, for the most part.
Oh, and remember how UNIX vs. VMS turned out?
(Unfortunately, it's harder to turn your old computer into a bar now...) -
Re:Let the flame war commence! You can come over and hide behind my VAX 11/780 cabinet. It will stop most small arms fire. Not to mention dispense alcohol.
Pull up a chair, grab a beer, and we can watch the fireworks.

The VAX Bar - a great re-use...While all these comments about re-using PC cases, chips, and the like are interesting, what do you do if the computer you want to recycle is a bit larger -- like a VAX 11/780 perhaps?
You turn it into a VAX BAR!
You can see it here. I've really not heard of anything that can top that, in terms of the size and quality of the conversion...

The one that started it all...
Others have mentioned the MacQuarium, but let us not forget the original computer recycling hack - the VAXbar!

You Can't Emulate Hardware...
...if you actually need the physical computer bits.
Maybe you can run a virtual machine on a Linux box that lets you have a little software VAX on your PC, but try keeping your beers cold in it -
Re:Oh man!
And you saw THIS coming. Only the next evolution in VAX hardware.
