The Walking Dead
or call it the "uncanny valley" if you like.
You may fool the camera but you won't fool the eye and masks weird people out. It's too much like having a chance encounter with The Joker. In a concealed carry state I wouldn't be caught wearing one of these things if you paid me.

OLPC served its purpose
OLPC was a project to get computers into the hands of children in developing nations. This was at a time when a laptop for a hundred bucks was thought to be impossible...... and then along came smart phones and tablets.
The OLPC was made obsolete by these devices. You can now get Android tablets for under 50 bucks and have access to hundreds of thousands of apps on the Android OS. No longer are you stuck in a sandbox like system with limited hardware and software. Sure they arent as rugged but the low cost makes them more appealing and they are essentially throw away (though that is not necessarily a good thing)

Re:Flu Shots are Ruining Vaccinations
Three points:
1) What about your friend's and coworkers' toddlers, grandparents, etc.? What about society in general? Herd immunity and helping stop the spread of disease is a good thing.
2) Actually, it might kill you. In Alberta this past season, we've had a strain of H1N1 that reportedly hits people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s harder than seniors, with a number of deaths. GlobalNews article
3) Even though you'll probably live, it still sucks to get the flu. Personally, when I weigh getting the shot against a somewhat higher chance of getting the flu, I'd rather get the shot. -

Re:Old Married people?
Yup. Under the current administration, Canada is in some ways worse than the States with respect to domestic policy – it's just that the world is emphatically not watching, because – hey – it's Canada. Who cares?
Environmental charities are officially enemies of the state, budget watchdogs have to file freedom of information requests with their own money to get the information their mandates require, environmental protection and first nations rights have been gutted at the documented request of petroleum lobbies, it is now illegal to cover your face at a protest, activism of any kind is being branded as terrorism, and tens of millions of dollars are spent on blatant openly-reviled propaganda, while poverty is a growing problem.
Canada's a mess. -
Re:What secrets do the Canadians have? Maple syrup
Nope, we don't forget. What you might think of as a defeat, we think of as a sacrifice. A sacrifice for the greater good, without the pomp and the ceremony and the breast beating. http://www.globalnews.ca/dieppe+uncovered/6442694158/story.html

Re:Lack of development
"The cost of a worst-case nuclear accident at a plant in Germany, for example, has been estimated to total as much as C7.6 trillion ($11 trillion), while the mandatory reactor insurance is only C2.5 billion." (http://www.globalnews.ca/Nuclear+plants+viable+only+when+uninsured/4653983/story.html)
Nuclear ain't cheap...
