For import gaming I always used National Console Support , I mainly used Lik-Sang for wierd stuff. So what I'm looking for is not a replacement import gaming place, but a replacement wierd stuff place. I suppose The Goat Store could help me replace some of this. (Note: An acronym for Games of all Types, some ./'s probably have an unreasonable fear of goats at this point.) Unfortunately, that's mainly a retro store, not a wierd stuff store. Telegames used to be good, but they've scaled back on the products they carry.

I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned, but the Goat Store is also releasing Cool Herders really soon, which would be the 4th title they've published for the system (The others being Feet of Fury, Inhabitants, and Maqiupai). I have my copy on pre-order and am very much looking forward to it. These releases may not be as extravagant as "regular" commercial releases, but they're still plenty of fun.

The nice thing about the DC is that it is quite easy to code for using open tools. The KallistOS library gives you easy access to the hardware. It even has a openGL library that does a decent job for simple 3d stuff, and a badass object oriented 2d library.

I also found that the "DDR workout" was really good for helping with my asthma-like symptoms. Much better exercise for the lungs than just sitting around all day in front of a PC...

I of course have to take this opportunity to plug our homebrew music beat game for the Dreamcast, Feet of Fury. Like DDR, but with player vs player modes, the ability to create user Swap CDs of your own music, and of course a Typing of Fury mode!

It's not free software, but I maintain the toolkit used to develop it (KOS) under a BSD license, and this toolkit is used by pretty much all DC homebrewers now (with the notable exceptions of DSNES and SCUMMVM). Two new homebrew games just came out actually... check 'em out here if you have a DC and want some more games: Games Of All Types. Yes, I know what you're thinking.. but that's a safe link ;)

As a Lynx owner myself, I can reccomend The GOAT (Games Of All Types) Store. Decent prices and an OK selection, and customer service is great; they sent me a second free game because I screwed up my address on the order form the first time. And, they ship internationally.

Thanks to them, I added Rampart and KLAX to my collection; both of which are great games.

If you don't have it already, Stun Runner is also good for replay value.

But stay away from Hydra and Batman Returns; big stinkers there.

You might also try GameDude; you can buy & sell cartridges from old systems through them, and they're in California, so shipping to BC should be fairly quick. Haven't done business with them in a while, but they were easy to deal with.

As a final note, you can try out games on the Lynx Emulator before you buy them.
