Re:Great Job!
If you're going to do that, it really ought to be a Matrox M3D.

Congratulations, games are now artThere is a push to get games recognized as art. Perhaps people should compare the working hours and the rewards of other arts like music, novel writing and the film industry.
All these industries have a common compensation scheme. Many, many people work very hard for very little money, a small fraction make a great deal of money. Read this for how writers make out. If you look there are countless other examples of this.
It is partly due to the nature of entertainment. Our tastes are fickle. Some Hollywood producer famously said Nobody knows anything about what films will be successful. (Check out William Goldman's book Adventures in the Screen trade for the quote). Who can really predict which one of the hundreds of projects starting this year will produce a great new game? Sure, EA can buy huge franchises and make a reasonable amount of money, but even there games like Pro Evolution Soccer threaten their name based primacy.
With music, in almost every town there are bands that are 90% as good as REM, U2 or whatever band you like. And they make very little money and work pretty hard and tend to be pretty smart.
Entertainment is not now, nor has it ever been stable. That said, working people huge hours tends not to produce inspired work. But making anything great, or even good, involves a lot of time and the economics of entertainment isn't likely to change either.

tenuous thesis needs a credible proponentAny such thesis is risky at best, but you might make a case if you could get agreement on what your dependent variables are and how you quantify them, and your subsequent manipulations respect the limits of your independent variables.
Unfortunately, this attempt is headed by a guy known for using dependent variables that are not well agreed on.
Unfortunately, this guy is also known for then using manipulations that do not respect the limits of his independent variables
That's why Herrnstein and Murray's previous "work" is termed ideology, not science.
We might hope that risky theses are attempted, to push the limits of what can be known, to enlighten and inform the debate, if not to provide definitive answers. No one's against that. But it's a fact of life that if your key staff include people known not to be equal to the task, your conclusions won't be taken seriously.
In short, Herrnstein and Murray gave up the right to be taken seriously in this field when they published their "work" last time. Perhaps some day a credible proponent of this thesis will come forward, who can be taken seriously.

Re:Try Verizon Wireless
Verizion has been very good so far for us. No roaming combined with Long Distance is great. We can use it just about anywhere and still get a Digital Connection. The more remote areas get analog, so check your coverage. Since we travel in metro areas, we're pretty much covered (Chicago, DC, Southern Fla).
One thing to be aware of is that the plan requires a Tri-Mode phone, and they can be quite pricey. There may still be a $50 rebate from Motorola available, and the stores run specials like 1/2 off.
Make sure you check out your service reps before buying from them. Ask around, not all Verizon stores (or authorized retailers) are the same for service. For example, ours will give us a loaner if the phone needs to go in for repairs. I've heard of some that may leave you high and dry or charge a fee for the phone. This review: http://goinside.com/00/7/verizon.html was very helpful and verified our decision.
