gomyplace.com and relay
check http://gomyplace.com/ it is not fully implemented, but if you are interested i can bring the product to the production phase fairly quick and make it embeddable. integration with vxWorks is not a problem. Or just consider the idea. hardware reboots - there are relays which can be controlled remotely, including HTTP interface. Again I could help you here - i can reverse engineer software for the existing hardware and put support you need, like SSL or SSH. Also you can consider developing of the hardware - this is not prohibitively expensive as many think. Such hardware can be sold as a separate and profitable product. The market of remotely controlled relays still is limited.

Re:Ring Tones?it is going to be tougher to sell ring tones in the future. people start to look for low quality MP3s and this kind of files you can download from any place including your own PC/Linux/Win32 - check this link picasso11.jpg
if you clicked that file you downloaded cached data from one of the public folders on one of the HTTP servers connected to the public reverse proxy. check the speed - file is 700K size

Re:At least they have an OS X versiongaim does the trick of interconnecting Yahoo/ICQ/MSN for any platform
the problem as i see it, that for open source project without financing it is almost impossible to get any attention. PR campaigns cost money. that links at top of the page cost gold.
i struggle with one of my pet projects, which allows to send large e-mail attachments (among other things) - for example, this is a static URL to one of the "public" files picasso.11. This is Open Source (GPL), zero financing. and you can help me and many fuuter users to make the product better. Will that click cost you lot of time ? there is no ads on the web site, nothing. but people simply fail to do this. when you look for the product why not to add to the google search words "Open Source" or "sourceforge"

Re:Fascinating......and my Open Source project which allows to do the same - send large e-mail attachments (and much more) will apparently never cross even 10 uesrs mark, but you can help by particpating in proxy server testing - download a file from proxy picasso.11
...and sending feedback to me. any comments/remarks are appreciated

Re:When will we quit shopping for price..."ToS that allow me to run services"
what kind of services we are talking about ?
if this is HTTP server check gomyplace.com completely open source (GPL) reversed proxy allowing you to serve HTML pages (or any other content) without having static IP and accepting incoming connections. Public proxy works according "all you can eat" system.

Re:goMyPlace reverse proxywe talked about Rodi and you mentioned that you see IP address of the remote server
goMyPlace is a remote access software with a couple of interesting twists.remote access to the file system which does not require Java on the client side. just an internet browser. Lynx is fine (see this screenshot http://gomyplace.com/images/goMyplace_file_browse
r _lynx_admin_Ubuntu.png)Smart SHA-1 based caching on the reversed proxy of the binary data and HTML files in the public folders
remote access to the system command shell with simple Java Script page
All URL's are static and can be posted on the message boards and used in e-mails
i use gomyplace to move files in my own LAN. in many cases this is simpler than struggling with samba and openning NETBios.

Re:Spoofed UDP packetsthen you will probably (not) find this project interesting http://www.gomyplace.com/ (click See Demo)
Back to Rodi - i would appreciate any feedback you can find time for. i am trying to make the application usable and i intend to continue the development. my e-mail latytet at yahoo dot com or you can post anonymously on the Rodi message board http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=4
9 6953 we can discuss issue of the bouncers. i think there is some misunderstanding about bouncers, because bouncers in no way are mandatory and in general case nothing prevents you from using chain of public bouncers like, for example, in Tor. Command line interface allows plenty of flexibility in how you use the client and what you do it with it. You can run similar to DC++ hub or implemenet small completely distributed (WASTE?) network of trusted peersJava was a natural choise to bring prove of concept fast and get feedback from the users. unfortunately the feedback remains zero. among planned steps is implementation in C# (Mono) and small embeddable C/C++ agent
