    I use a battery eliminator with my GoPro Hero 3+ Black, together with an external (11500 mAh) battery pack. The combo will power the GoPro for far longer than the (maximum supported) 64GB microSD card has video capacity. Perfect for long cross-country flights that exceed the ~1.5-2 hours of internal battery capacity (the internal battery is 1150-1200 mAh, so the 11500 mAh external is good for about 18 hours of video recording; a 64GB microSD card can hold about 7 hours of video).

    Gopro has one if you're into that sort of thing. It's essentially just two gopros stuck together and synchronizing their video. That might work reasonably well if you don't mind dropping $800+ on Gopro equipment. That's tiny compared to what some A/V dudes spend, but our Gopros are much more likely to not come back from any given excursion. I've lost one already, in the air over a couple miles of farmer fields and golf courses.

    There are some projects underway to adapt Gopro and other cameras to record 360 degree video for Occulus Rift users. I'm keeping an eye on those as a way to fulfill my lifelong dream of making someone wearing a VR Headset vomit. Heh heh heh.

    Also, the police don't go out on 24/7 shifts. They go out on 8 hour shifts.

    Probably not even that. Just like other occupations, they take breaks. Even if the battery only lasted 2 hours,
    a simple beep that tells them to return to their car and swap to a new battery would be sufficient.

    The gopro advertises 2.5 hours with their regular battery and 5 hours with their extended battery: http://gopro.com/support/artic...
    So using the extended battery and swapping out the battery halfway thru your shift would be sufficient even if they went with the gopro
    but surely they could get one optimized to have a longer battery life as there is no reason a police body cam needs the same quality
    as a gopro. Basically, the battery life is a non-issue.

    However I know of several other (unofficial?) mounts such as kite-line mounts (for mounting the camera up in a kite or paraglider canopy), I've even seen 'follow cam' systems being used where the gopro is tethered to the back of paraglider canopy and 'flies' behind you:

    Admittedly the above product can work with many different products, not just GoPro.

    Another reason for the success of the GoPro would be the way they teamed up with RedBull to make head cam footage for snowboarding, mountain biking, BASE jumping etc videos:

    Although the GoPro might not be the BEST camara out there for the price it certainly works well enough for a LOT of people who want something tough and reliable with good HD video without spending >€500

    As to the Iranian State, it's really a fake puppet democracy, power is in the Revolutionary Guards, who have ursurped pretty much everything in the country. The sham election as all the evidence anyone could need. There's no civil rights, not there ever were. Keep your head down, don't speak out and you might be able to get by. Speak out and it's curtains for you.

    This niche has already been taken over by GoPro Video Cams. (I don't work for them and don't own one.) These things were all over the slopes this winter. I saw a lot of them attached to the end of ski poles being used to shoot both the owner and other boarders or skiers. Shooting Junior doing something cute in the house is fine with your smart phone, but out in the real, messy world, I want something a bit more rugged and waterproof. A hundred bucks for the SD model, and $180 for the HD version. Add another hundred for the versions that attach to your surfboard, ski helmet, motorcycle, submarine, etc. Shoots 1080P at 30fps. SD card memory expansion. Very cool device in my opinion.
