Re:Colors!
I can not recommend this enough. My 22 month old daughter loves Colors (and the R4 lets me do some homebrew too!). Here is a little pic of her playing with colors:

$2000 laptop that isn't 6 months old = no go
Here are my results after running the application. It appears my dual core 1.83ghz Core Duo CPU needs to be upgraded already. On top of that, my Geforce Go 7800 appears to be lacking. This just goes to show how out of touch with reality the studio's are for trying to push this crap on people.

So easy
This was amazingly easy. I setup a Widget at: http://witendofi.com/widgets/witendoficard.xml
It is a Google IG version of the WiFi Cards we let users have (see grebowiec.net for an example, it is in the right sidebar).
I had this thing working in under 10 minutes. I like. I will be expanding this. The timing was perfect, I actually started on a Konfabulator widget for this just last night! -
Re:Random pattern of yellow dots
Please just load this custom style-sheet:

}
But please drop the [grebowiec.net] obviously! -

A Guide to X Composite and its eye candy
I wrote up a guide to setting up Xorg 6.8RC4 + X Composite with shadows and transperency the other day. These steps should also hold true for 6.8 final of course. Enjoy.

Happy as a wet turtle Gentoo user
I have been using Gentoo for months now and will never turn back. Little of this has to do with performance and 99.9% of has to do with Portage. Package management, dependency checking and the lot are SO great. Secondly is where performance comes in. Without proper CFLAGS you might as well ignore this. On my Athlon XP 2800 I have this:
CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -mmmx -msse -m3dnow"
In some simple tests I have done I have seen this as worth while. I have two pages I have created that might be worth a read:
CFLAGS Guide
Is -mmmx and such worth it?
Hope you enjoy these reads. -
