24 titles available for HD DVD. 3 more tomorrow.
Actually, tweny-four titles have been released for HD DVD and three more will be released tomorrow. For those that want to see the release titles, look at the right-hand side of HDDVD.org.Also there are very few titles availabe for HD DVD. Maybe they do this on purpose because people cannot see yet that there are a lot of other 'big releases' missing, not all studios signed up for hd dvd.
"A few" is more than ZERO releases of BD movies, which I guess doesn't matter since there are ZERO BD players available to consumers for another couple of weeks anyways.
"A few" (2-6 titles) have been released every week since HD DVD's launch.

Re:Blu-Ray all the way!
Ahh, I see. I must have been looking at an outdated website. http://www.hddvd.org/hddvd/difformatsblueray.php. Still, blu-ray is much better all around. But thanks on the correction.

Re:who cares...
nothing is going to replace the dvd players. it would take some device that can play with even better resolution like the dvd did with repsect to vhs.
You mean like HD-DVD?
the only reason people purchased dvd players is because they are very cheap, and the resolution is considerably better than vhs.
A lot of people don't give a shit about resolution or video quality. They won't start to care about it until they get HDTVs and notice how crappy their amatuer dvd dupes look. -
A balanced comparison
Here's another comparison of the next-gen DVD formats. I find it rather balanced.

Re:I want this not Blu-Ray!
HD-DVD = Backwards compatable with current DVD's
Errrrr... huh?BR-DVD = NOT backwards compatable with ANYTHING! (now that Sony's made money getting a DVD player in almost every home in the world, now they go with ANOTHER format that you'll need to go out and buy a NEW DVD Player that reads BR-DVD)
How is HD-DVD "backward compatible"? You're not going to be able to read your HD-DVDs in your current DVD player.
On the other hand, both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD players will appear that can support earlier generations of discs.
Exactly how is the blessing of the DVD Forum a better thing than, say, the support of Sony, Matsushita, Pioneer, Sharp, Hitachi, LG, Philips, Samsung, and Thompson, inclusive?
