Let's define abnormal then
A man being a transsexual taking estrogen imbalancing his brain: High estrogen levels in men tied to mental decline: http://www.health.am/ab/more/h... Sound like anybody you know "Barb" (or shall we say Tom instead)? After all, it ought to. That's what you've done to yourself, and it's FAR from "normal".

Re:Doesn't work well on cable JC... apk
Science shows otherwise. High estrogen levels in men tied to mental decline: http://www.health.am/ab/more/h... and Barb-Tom did that to him/herself taking estrogen to attempt to upset the body's natural order of things, which yes, includes your mind taking a huge hit. To,/Barb obviously has mentally unbalanced him/herself (whatever) more than doing something quite insane in a sex change alone has.

Re:Let's define abnormal instead
High estrogen levels in men tied to mental decline: http://www.health.am/ab/more/h... and you did that to yourself "Barb" (Tom), nobody else, further showing you are mentally unhinged by taking estrogen to attempt to upset your body's natural order of things, which yes, includes your mind taking a huge hit. You have mentally unbalanced yourself more than doing something quite insane in a sex change to yourself also.

Re:Do Americans really take drugs for depression?
According to this paper, 3.5% of French people are currently taking antidepressants, and 42% have taken them at some point. And this article claims that 24% of Spanish women use antidepressants. I also know many friends and family members who take or have taken antidepressants in the UK.
I mean, why would a doctor tell you to drug yourself, even if you feel depressed.
This isn't about some vague feelings of 'feeling bad' or 'feeling depressed', this is for diagnosed clinical depression.
You're very lucky that you've evidently never suffered from depression, or you wouldn't say this.

Re:Interesting approach.
Sure, there are enzymes which break up DNA - they're used all the time for sequencing, as you can't sequence long strands. But to identify a malign region in the DNA =and= have the enzyme only break the DNA at that point =and= have this done in a way that won't cause the end result to do strange and undesirable things -- that's going to be tough.
There are some approaches with modified/fine-tuned Zinc-fingers cleaving (your own) DNA - one example see this article: http://www.health.am/aids/more/proteins-put-personalized-hiv-therapy-within-reach/
