Re:Server
What is the reason for big-endian requirement, you will have hard time finding something that could be called "open platform". Did you look into x86 network appliances? Something like these (other embedded vendors have similar offerings):

Re:What
Ha, I have a very nice P4 server board that has *ISA* slots. Mine has an AGP slot, but the standard version only has ISA and PCI.

Re:ABit has been gone for a while now
Overall I've had the best longevity with Tyan and SuperMicro/AOpen. Better than average performance in their classes, too.
A while back I got an iBase industrial mobo (a P4 with ISA slots! http://www.ibase.com.tw/mb800.htm) and so far I love it -- tho time will tell if it's as durable as my Tyans. My oldest working Tyan is from about 1996, and I've never had one die, and have never seen one that was "made on the cheap".

What do you mean ISA slots *were* available...?
Why don't we try *are* available instead? On an RoHS-compliant Pentium 4 board at that.

Re:No benchmark results for TM??
The 90nm CPUs are not commercially available and Orion gave some LINPACK results. Here are some results from a Japanese article about the 130nm Efficeon.

Re:transmeta is so cool but..
I hope these boards will be available soon. And hopefully also with 90nm Efficeon.
