Re:Thanks, Bill
Finland's unemployment rate is currently 8.4%, but thanks for playing.
How about you stay out of things you know nothing about? The official employment rate goal of current government is 72%.. Which is unlikely to succeed.. Re:That's what you get
There was also a recent event in Finland where some wankers pulled out an ATM with a large front loader.

Re:It is probably a hoax
Finnish newspaper Iltalehti (in Finnish) is now reporting that the attempt by some members of Anonymous to claim the leak is a hoax. Actually, the person or group claiming responsibility did probably do neither of the leaks. The "new" leak was actually published already three weeks ago, and someone just copied that leak and tried to gain news coverage for his political ends.

Re:To really put things in perspective..
As you might expect, the consumption varies quite a lot depending on what kind of car you're driving.. A recent article states that an average car in Finland (using gasoline) consumes about 6.5 litres / 100 km, which is about 36 MPG. Another source gives 6 litres / 100 km for highway driving (39MPG) and 10 litres / 100 km for driving within cities (lower speed, higher consumption per km, 23.5MPG). The averange consumption rates for diesel vehicles in that article are 5.5 litres / 100 km (highway, 42.7MPG) and 8.6 litres / 100 km (cities, 27MPG).
Wikipedia has some examples as well. -

Re:Reporting in the media.
Iltasanomat story is fairly big
There was also a similar article at iltalehti, turun sanomat and so on. These are not small magazines. -
Home chemistry kits and Problems
I wonder what has happened to those home chemistry kits for kids I saw in stores some 25 years ago? I haven't seen them for years, at least in Finland.
It would also be kind of boring to buy a kit that are classified as "8 years and up", "10 and up", "12 and up", and it stops there. Where are the "30 years and up" boxes???
The situation to get chemistry kits may have become globally worse in last 1? years. Also here in Finland, a "home chemist" blew up himself in a mall (pictures from the location), killing about 5 others and wounding some 100. I guess people would look at me very suspiciously if I went to a store asking for a "home chemistry set" now... -
Freedom is for the language-proficient
Well, as long as you take the bother to read stuff in any language other than English, of course, there is quite a good selection of active independent online news sources besides the ones you Americans tend to stick to; for instance, the Heise newsletter, the Spiegel or TAZ online magazines or the web.de service in German or, for example, iltalehti in Finnish, even though that one's fairly yellow press.
Even though some of us don't like it, this is an increasingly globalizing world where being able to understand others is a bit of an advantage.
