IMPOSSIBLE - 30% FB voting. What % will?
Ok, let's stop to consider this for a moment. 30% of the Facebook subscriber base needs to participate if the measure is to pass. What's the liklihood of that happening if:
(1) A significant percentage of all FB subscribers are spambots (estimated at 6-10% - http://www.insidefacebook.com/category/spam-2/ )
(2) The average turnout of a normal adult voting population for US elections is ~50% (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_turnout)
(3) There is a gap between "all users" and "monthly active users" - hard to estimate (e.g., http://www.forbes.com/sites/limyunghui/2012/09/30/1-billion-facebook-users-on-earth-are-we-there-yet/ )
(4) Voting requires registering for an app, which (see other comments) also reduces turnout?
I think we can say, with relative confidence, that it's very unlikely that a full 30% of all 'Facebookizens' will express their right to vote. Which is probably why Facebook set the 30% threshold in the first place.
But, it'll be fun to estimate: what percentage of FB users will actually vote in the end?

Re:I don';t think so....You can look at linkedin to get a rough estimate of ex-Google people at Facebook
This article
http://www.insidefacebook.com/2010/10/15/as-source-for-current-facebook-employees-google-has-big-lead-on-yahoo-microsoft-oracle/ suggests there are 277 ex-Googlers at Facebook. (There are reduced numbers from other big tech employeres).

Facebook use trends
You say that people are spending less time on Facebook than before, but whether that's a long-term trend is still unclear.
As for it being replaced by human-to-human interaction, your desire to see that happen is unrelated to whether it actually will occur.

Re:wow...
Right, but this is giving you active users. I think you underestimate how big Facebook really is.
For example, take the following info. This shows that 44% of the population of the UK have an active Facebook account. Keep in mind this isn't internet active people, but total population. If you counted internet active, you would have 58% instead (keeping in mind that internetworldstats.com is a bit old compared to the Facebook data). -
Re:Predictable
Well, not plural billions yet, but estimates of 2010 revenues seem to be a bit over $1b.

Re:TurboTax DOES have 1-click facebook export alre
For a minute there I thought you were joking. One google later shows that turbo tax is only too happy to use people bragging about their personal finances as a marketing tool.
Un. Fucking. Believable.
Maybe it's because I started drinking before I started using the internet but I really don't get this obsession with broadcasting absolutely everything in your life to anyone within a mile radius. It's like we're being punished like the Belcebron's in reverse and I get the impression that if I don't start telling everyone how me and my owtrageyusly hawt gf just had sex or that I'm popping out to the garage to get some oil for the lawnmower I'll be looked on as a freakish outcast.

A Time Line of Sanford Wallace
What's wrong with this picture?
2004-10-08 FTC files suit against Wallace to stop infecting computers with spyware that promised to remove the problem for $30.
2006-03-22 FTC files suit against Wallace--Wallace and co-defendants fined for over $5 million.
2008-01-26 MySpace awarded $230 million from Wallace in LA.
2009-10-29 (Yesterday) Facebook awarded $711 million from Wallace.
If you say seven hundred million and jail time is too much, I say it isn't enough. A warning didn't stop him, five million didn't stop him, two hundred million didn't stop him and I'm sure seven hundred million won't stop him. Throw the book at him and lock him up--this is definition CAN-SPAM Act. And he's a heavy repeat offender, it's not like this guy was blindsided with a surprise ruling. Spam is too kind of a label for this guy, I would hit him for extortion and identity theft on massive scales in addition to CAN-SPAM.
How he continued to operate with a two hundred million dollar loss a year and a half ago is beyond me. Is he just declaring bankruptcy (like he did back June '09), rolling over and doing it again? Or avoiding states where there's a warrant for his arrest or what? -
Re:Hmmm
Well that and sell items in the game to help with game play. Plus a monthly subscription so they can play unlimited with options turned on.
Many games like Pirates of the Caribbean, etc already do that.
Many Facebook games are that way like Battlestations, you play for free but can buy items from their shop to help gameplay. They earn about $40,000 a month.
