LinSight Shuts Down
There's been much rumbling, but it looks official: LinSight and LinDeveloper (the sites operated by Dave Whitiger and Atipa have shut down. They decided that it wasn't an efficient use of resources... on the positive side, LinEvents (a Linux Events calendar which was the most useful part of the site) will continue. No word on what Dave's gonna do now, but somehow I don't think he'll return to LinuxToday ;) -
Caldera Publically Trading
Fred Palmer noted that Caldera has officially begun trading their stock. The stock is currently trading several points above where they opened: congrats to everyone who got in on this one, but especially to the guys at Caldera. Now lets see what they do with it ... Linsider Launched

We're featuring lots of business-related news, profiles for every major Linux company, stock information, content licensed under the OpenContent license, and much more. You can read our press release, or skip straight to the home page. " We don't usually post new sites, but there's been a lot of word going around about Linsider/Linsight and what its aim is. Post-LinuxToday, Dave Whitinger [?] was rumoured to be spending a lot of time working on Linsight and this -- and it looks like it was worth the effort. -

Atipa Corporation to Receive $30M Investment
Dave Whitinger, formerly of LinuxToday fame, now from Atipa wrote in to tell us that "Soros Private Equity Partners, TA Associates, and WR Hambrecht + Co. have invested more than $30 million in Atipa Linux Solutions. " Also, if you haven't seen Dave's Linsight service, you should check it out. I've been wanting to hack something like that together for years, but now I don't have to ;) -
