Come to Europe, our page load times are faster
Thanks to GDPR a low of websites are serving up the same content to Euopeans without all the bullshit attached. https://linustechtips.com/main...
I can't confirm if the CNN actually serves up pages that take 30 seconds to load, but I just clicked on the top most story about the wildfires and got a load time of 4 seconds with adblocking, and 6 seconds without adblocking.

Re:Steam survey
Some of the *sole* reasons gamers are running Windows 10:
* Typical MS bullshit about not supporting DirectX 12 on Windows 7, They did the same shit when they tried to force gamers to migrate from XP to Vista via DirectX 10.
* MS artificially not supporting newer CPUs even though AMD officially has drivers for ThreadripperAsk gamers to tell you ANY _new_ features that are DirectX 12 only and not available in DirectX 10? You'll get *crickets.* Gamers don't fucking care. They just want to play the latest shiny.
They obviously don't care about Windows Spyware
How many of those running Windows 10 were forced upgrades?

1050 and 1040
I like my computers very quiet, so my rule of thumb (sometimes violated) is buy the best GPU available which is passively cooled and needs no extra power connector.
I only found one page about the GTX 1050 or GTX 1040. This gives expected release date 2016Q3. However they don't give power consumption (critical for my purposes - I'd be looking for a maximum of about 60W) nor do the numbers they quote give me much idea of how much faster it will be than (say) a GTX 750, which so far as I know is the current best quiet GPU.

AMD will likely be the first to ship HBM2 GPU too
It has been said that Pascal GP104 will use GDDR5X. If Nvidia repeats the cycle GP104 will be their flagship and big Pascal GP110 wont be GeForce ready until next cycle some time in 2017.
Which would make sense, considering that nVidia has no experience with HBM.
AMD - Hynix collaboration on HBM started a while ago, by the end of 2013 they've only "finalized HBM 3D memory", it took 2 more years to ship Fury series GPUs with HBM::
