    You can always customize your mozilla splash screen by placing a file named "Mozilla.bmp" in your mozilla directory.

    I'd like Mozilla more if I didnt look like a dinosaur geek everytime it starts up.

    At least this one issue is relatively easy to fix.

    For those who don't know it can be done, if you don't like Mozilla's default splash screen it can be replaced by adding an image titled mozilla.bmp in the Mozilla install directory.

    No.

    Mozilla has always (well, almost always) used a red dinosaur instead of Netscape's green lizard. Somebody probably considered the trademark thing at some point, but the switch was made only to make it clear that Mozilla.org was a separate entity from Netscape. If Netscape the company ever started using Mozilla as its mascot again, it would still be green.

    The frontend is pretty enough for me (depending on the theme being used, of course). But why didn't they celebrate the 1.0 milestone by giving Mozilla a nicer splash screen? The little green lizard is cute, but doesn't exactly scream, "This here's a serious browser!"

    There's hope, though. Under Windows, all you have to do is throw a picture called mozilla.bmp into the folder that holds mozilla.exe. Under Linux, you have to replace splash.xpi with the pic of your choice and rebuild from source (ick).

    Or you can always roll your own!

    This is a link that will auto-install the icons (and some additional ones including for "mail compose" and bookmark windows) into Mozilla for the title bar:

    Lotekk.net has a few other useful Mozilla tricks, like some alternative Splash box graphics and a couple of search engine additions to the sidebar.

    Google Search can get you more references as well.
