    There are tons of MacOS Ogg Vorbis players, here are some:

    Sourceforge Quicktime Components
    Play Ogg Vorbis file on QuickTime (including QT-based players, like iTunes). Note that this is still under development and may have bugs.

    Why can't you play your Ogg files with Audion?

    Or Unsanity Mint Audio?

    Or Macamp?

    They all support Ogg. And I'm sure I forgot at least a dozen more. Claiming the Mac can't play Ogg because iTunes doesn't support it is about as ridiculous as saying Linux can't do your budget because there is no spreadsheet built into the kernel.

    The article poster is trolling on that last sentence, plain and simple.

    This program seems to have OGG support. I like iTunes but I don't think it should be the thing holding you back from listening to music on a mac. That's a little silly.

    On the Macamp site you can download a plugin which allows you to use Macamp to grab any audio from within Mac OS 8 or 9, including 'forbidden' RealAudio streams and the like.

    I used to use Streambox Ripper for the same purpose on Windows. I believe Real shut that program down.

    Try This. Before the fork of the project, Macamp and Winamp were very similar, but when Nullsoft gave over the Macamp section to another company, the two diverged considerably.

    Ironically enough, the only support on Macintosh that Ogg Vorbis seems to have is in a shareware (nagware) client called MacAMP and other commercial products. The codec for some reason is not supported in the free (beer) QuickTime player.

    Or MacAmp, which also offers Ogg Vorbis support, and Ogg encoding support!
