Re:Drones
Who wants to be a pilot and put your butt on the line every day as you enter enemy territory when you can be a drone pilot half way across the world and go home to your wife and kids every night.
Who wants to drive something dangerous like a Ferrari P4/5 when you can drive something safe and dependable like the Mack Terapro garbage truck? The Ferrari is expensive, has hardly any room for passengers of the opposite sex, is difficult to maintain, and says you don't watch your spending. The Mack truck, on the other hand, is much cheaper, has much more room for members of the opposite sex (even if they have to ride in the back), and maintenance is a snap at many conveniently located dealers. Nobody will question your spending habits if they know you turned down a Ferrari for a Mack. You'd be a fool not to go with the Mack.

Re:Changing percpetion
And why is it unsafe... is it because of the other larger SUVs with more inertia or because small = unsafe. So unsafe really means that there are cars on the road that are dangerous and this won't be protection against it.
I know it's chic to blame SUVs for everything but, as they say, there's always a bigger fish. And yes, they must be taken into account. This isn't a homework assignment where you can just ignore all the requirements you don't like and still get a passing mark.

Deisel Hybrids coming.. Hybrid/deisel comparason
I have a 98 Volkwagon TDI Jetta. I get about 45 miles per gallon over the 140,000 miles I've driven. The car has been great, always starts even in the cold winters in the NE. The car isn't a speed demon, but its not bad accelerating (the turbo helps and the tourque of engine is strong.)
I've been looking at the hybrids. They look like a good. Cleaner than the diesels . But according to usa today, the mileage of the hybrid prius isn't as good as the diesel.
USA today..
and mack trucks are getting into the action with diesel electric hybrids..

Re:This is prime PHB material, but...

I recently learned that automatic transmissions increase one's towing capacity. At first I thought it was because they did not trust the human to know when to downshift, but it does appear that there are some features in some transmissions that make it less likely to slip. Or so a truck salesman says. If I switched to automatic it would be because I needed that kind of towing capacity.
I know very little about cars (and trucks), but I would still question that salesman where he got that idea. For evidence otherwise, Mack's transmissions for their big rigs all seem to be standard, not automatic. Is towing many many tons enough? -
Re:Warranty void if you're rooted or get a virus
Well, let's take the disney land analogy that another poster used. Would I sue Disney if I were riding the Snow White ride and got run over by oncoming traffic, I think most people would think I could sue.
But it's an analogy that is just as silly as the ford one - it all comes down to what the customer expectations are for the product and how they jive with what Microsoft is willing to provide.
Microsoft requires users to dial into their servers -- not servers owned by the game's publisher. This is a big sticking point with some of the software companies because it violates the "don't let anyone get between you and your customers" rule of business. Since it's microsoft-certified software, microsoft hardware, and a microsoft network, you'd think you were in a safe area. But, microsoft can't control everything (even its own employees), so there could be problems. This disclaimer (at the risk of making another silly analogy) is like McDonalds saying "we're not responsible if we spit in your food and you get sick".
