Re:RandomDude
Why not visit a botanical garden too?
I don't know which are the best to visit in the US, maybe the Missouri Botanical Garden.
(I work at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew [London, UK]. They're well worth visiting if you're in London.)

Re:All in Europe say NI!elderberries ? Do elderberries really stink ?
I thought it was helleborus. "Foetidus" means stinky in latin.

Re:Can someone fill me in here?
There's alot of ways to detect atoms. Human "Seeing" is just detecting the light bouncing off/radiated by an object.
For example atomic force microscopy uses a very sharp needle and detects the force of the individual atoms.
IBM even used it to move individual atoms to spell "IBM". -

Re:Missouri?
Another St. Louisan here. Don't forget the many unique places that make StL um...stand out.
Then again, there are bunches of genuinely cool places and events that make the town with the easy-carry handle worth living in.
UM-St. Louis also produces a seriously good literary magazine and has a strong creative writing program.

Re:St. Louis Geek Attractions
The St. Louis Science Center has free admission.
The Missouri Botanical Garden is pretty cheap, and is a premiere research and conservation institution. It's also nice to be outdoors once in a while.
Boeing has a free museum here. Aerospace is somewhat geeky.
The Museum of Transport is pretty geeky. Plus you can see lots of old trains!
