Re:Rupert Murdoch Streisand
Shrimp and prawns are infact two different and distinct beasties, though easily confused, because they look superficially similar.
This handy guude might help:
http://museumvictoria.com.au/discoverycentre/infosheets/what-is-the-difference-between-prawns-and-shrimp/Since the adds were run in the US, where shrimp was the delicious type of crustaceon ready to throw onto afore mentioned cooking surface, that was the right word to use.
No doubt, when back here in his native Oz, Hoges reverts back to the more locally appropriate 'prawn' nomenclature. -
Re:Makes sense
BTW - who knows why turds are round, and tapered instead of cubes?
Because you're not a wombat?

Re:National Museum of Computing is well worth a vi
Also of interest is the 1949 CSIR Mark 1 (CSIRAC), which is held at the Museum of Victoria in Melbourne (unfortunately no longer on display). Because of its historical value, there is no intention to restore it to working order.
I'd love to visit Bletchley Park one day though if I'm ever on that side of the world.

Re:Good news, but
Sounds foundational to me. Why shouldn't it count, just because the rebels mostly weren't born in Oz?
It is foundational. According to this page: http://museumvictoria.com.au/origins/keydates.aspx?cid=1 most of the population of Victoria (where the Eureka Stockade happened) were immigrants, over 75%. "Top 8 Countries of Origin" table at the bottom.

Re:Best museums to see
Scienceworks in Melbourne, Australia. Come to think of it, just come to Australia. Don't bother with Sydney though, they've only got that rather overpolished steampunk exo over at the Powerhouse Museum . But if you are really into natural history, just take a 4WD excursion through Kakadu in the Deep North. You'll see birds that'll reduce you to tears. The wildlife ain't so bad either. But stay away from the pools, they're a croc. Just sayin'.

Re:nah
But mammals evolved at about the same time dinosaurs did - see e.g. http://www.newscientist.com/channel/life/dinosaurs/dn9936-top-10-dinosaur-myths.html#2 or http://museumvictoria.com.au/dinosaurs/milestones_mesozoic.html

For some reason...

That's not a worm...
- I have trouble with the idea that worms of merely a foot long have trouble meeting the designation "giant" outside of Tremors or Arrakis.
Try this one on for size...
