It is possible to unbrick! I did it before
I'm too far down for this comment to really matter, but in general, it is possible to unbrick a failed BIOS flash. The reason is that already for some time all (or maybe almost all) manufacturers have two parts of the BIOS - one that gets updated, and a second part that never does, or maybe can't. The second part (actually it is the first), only has very rudimentary software. It can read floppy disks, but not much more than that. The idea is exactly that you can recover from a failed flash.
That means that to recover, you need to get the right program into a floppy, with the right BIOS on it. You then boot into this special flash mode, which often means pressing some key combination. I've done it on an LE1700 that I bought of e-bay, and I'm pretty sure you can do it on almost any computer.
In some more modern BIOSes you don't need a floppy, but can do it with a USB stick.
I'm too lazy to do a thorough search for the exact procedure, but here are two good links that I found:

Re:I got there Mini10v, and quite like it
For the curious, about making a triple boot mini with OS X and Linux: http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-os-x-guides/20638-dell-mini-10-1011-snow-leopard-triple-boot.html

Re:I got there Mini10v, and quite like it
Could be - but I actually loaded OS X on mine. So now I have a $300 Mac netbook.
:) :)

It was sublimely easy. I've seen on the above site where someone made a triple boot Mac/XP/Linux; haven't tried that yet.
No issues yet on the IDE channel. No idea how OS X may or may not affect that. -
Re:Great News
http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/windows-7/2441-windows-7-ultimate-solid-state-drive-speed-tweaks.html has a list of tweaks for windows on a SSD. Amongst them is disabling hibernate on the assumption that you're start up time is good enough.
Disclaimer: I've came across this researching SSD's before I buy & haven't tried it yet. Thought it might help you.

Re:One.
Clueless one, go visit http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-os-x/ to see hundreds of Dell Minis running OS X...

Firefox may be one cause
The hackintosh community has noted that netbooks run hot with Firefox (all versions),
but stay cool when running Safari. This problem is discussed here:http://mydellmini.com/forum/general-mac-os-x-discussion/6550-my-os-x-mini-gets-pretty-warm.html
... but is not limited to mini9 hackintoshes. Other netbooks with heat issues run
hotter with firefox.Perhaps firefox has a busy loop for event dispatching somewhere? I did a simple
test running down my battery, and firefox cuts it in half. (!) But that's just one data point.
Anyone know for sure? -
Re:Why?
I wonder if some of these optimizations cut them out of using Atom...

Re:Nothing new here...
Actually OS X supports some 3G cards OK.
E.g. here's a guide to install OS X on a Dell Mini 9
http://i.gizmodo.com/5156903/how-to-hackintosh-a-dell-mini-9-into-the-ultimate-os-x-netbook
Follow this tutorial to get your mobile broadband working if your Mini 9 has it. Network preferences should recognize it out of the box.
Now what's interesting about this is that the Dell 5530 wireless card is supported the bundled OS X drivers.

Re:The problem...
Except for a lot of people (even with some currently-sold systems like Intel Atom netbooks),
...
My Aspire One is too slow for HuluThe problem isn't your hardware, its your software.
The community over at http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-os-x-f23.html has been watching Hulu on Dell Mini9s (also Intel Atom powered). Only major difference? Their running OSX on their netbooks.

Re:Tethering
And it would mean that you finally have a mobile broadband option for your Macbook.
Gee
... I guess the Verizon USB stick I'm using with my MacBook doesn't count as a "mobile broadband option for your MacBook"?How about the build in AT&T wireless card I'm using on my Mini9 running OSX? (http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/how-to-install-mac-os-x-dellefi-method-t3925.html) Yeah, its not "official", or even supported, but it still works great (along with the WiFi, WebCam, Bluetooth, three USB ports, removable battery and the price that puts Apple to shame).
