However, legalization of drugs in Mexico wouldn't work. The USA would have to legalize at the same time.
If Mexico legalized - not just decriminalized - at least Marijuana, the United States would have to follow suite. With cannabis available **legally** in every shop in every town within 200 miles of the border, the influx of regular normally law abiding Americans getting popped at the border for weed would overwhelm the "justice" system on the American side.
Legalization would happen within two years.

They keep performing these heinous searches and "eating out the substance" of our citizens
20 of 25 raids that day resulted in illegal drugs being found.
These cops are enforcing the law. Don't like it? Get the law changed. We do elect our lawmakers, you know.

...more than likely is to make sure the fuel doesn't make it past the very upper atmosphere...
The satellite contains relativly minor amounts of hydrazine, which while toxic, would almost certainly dissipate / burn off in the atmosphere as its tank disintegrated. In the (very unlikely) event the tank made it back to Earth, the same thing would happed as the tank ruptured on ground impact: The gas would dissipate of burn off. Hydrazine leaks are fairly common on F-16 bases (used in the F-16's Emergency Power Unit).The two real reason would be to demonstrate that such a thing can be done, and also to insure that the technology itself is destroyed. -- No Jail For Pot

"Young People""Young People" don't always have the common sense to keep things off-line that "Older Folks" might think twice about. And, young people are more likely to express opinions that while admirable, might not work well in corporate America.
For example, a young idealistic student might post a comment at a site like NoJailForPot.com, and later think twice about it when applying for work after college at, say, a government agency or perhaps an investment house...

Very TrueAs the webmaster of NoJailForPot.com, I have had a number of people ask me to remove their names for exactly this reason (which after verification of identity, I always do). The interesting thing about a lot of people who believe society would be better off with decriminalization of marijuana, many like myself don't even smoke pot...
(by the way, yes I know the html sucks, we're working on a new site that has fully valid code...)
