Re:See a pattern?
Can anyone reply to my post with a corresponding list of things Dems have done?
Sure:
-Republican forms get tossed in the trash but not Republican forms...
- Democratic registration for completely fictional people...
- Fraudulent, forged Democratic registrations as well dumping a full years worth of paperwork on the registrars lap in the last minute to ensure they weren't looked at and INTENTIONALLY putting down false information for Republicans or simply not turning them in.
- Texas Democrats who Gerrymandered in their redistricting efforts... (The recent successful Republican effort was tit for tat revenge for the 1990 redistricting that The Almanac for American Politics called "The most partisan redistricting in the '90 cycle in the nation." and "the shrewdest gerrymander" of it's time. A gerrymander that resulted in a house delegation that was 17 to 15 Democratic despite 56% of the voters at the polls voting for a Republican congressman.
- CBS (as partisan as Sinclair or Fox) doing it's traditional 60 Minutes week-before-the-election hit piece early this year using obvious forgeries and giving the Kerry campaign advanced notice so they could exploit it with their operation "Fortunate Son"
-Florida 1998 -- Massive voter fraud uncovered that eventually leads to the election being overturned. The efforts during the next cycle (2000) all efforts to prevent fraud demagogued as "disenfranchising black voters" by the EXACT same people who had perpetuated the fraud. -
Re:Republicans comdemn thisIs Billhobbs.come a reliable news source?
If you would look at the link, billhobbs.com isn't creating the news stories, only archiving them. The sources that you claim aren't reliable include:
Still think that voter registration fraud is only limited to a couple of republicans tearing up voter registration cards?

Re:One good point...
Speaking of checking boxes, it looks like Florida is disqualifying anybody who forgot to check "I am a US Citizen" on their registration form.
You have to be a US Citizen to vote, obviously. The thing is, if you look at the form, the oath that you have to sign also says "I am a U.S. Citizen." So by signing, you are swearing that you are a citizen, regardless of what the checkbox says. -
Re:Florida, anyone?
Thanks for the info. When I read the piece I was fairly skeptical because it was an op-ed, but heard from a trusted friend that Bob Herbert is biased but not dirty.
What is the background on RealClearPolitics - it seems to lean a little to the right (just as Bob Herbert leans a little left)?
Also, take any article from the Nation Review with a grain of salt. It is a very biased source.
A link from one of the RealClearPolitics site was really interesting, and if you haven't read, give it a read. It seems more down the middle than either the NYT op-ed or the 3 articles you linked. Basically makes me worried about Florida determining the next election, because they obviously have a lot of problems that need fixing.
Orlando mayor vote probe inflames activists
The article seems to indicate that the current "problem" is blown out of proportion for use in politics (imagine that), gives more details of what is really happening, and gives some examples of some really unfortunate voting problems. -
Disservice
Micheal Moore's film is entertaining, sensational, contains snippets of facts taken out of context that are artfully woven together to provoke an emotional response, convincing people of a position by means other than careful, rational analysis.
That is to say, his approach is the same abominable approach use by the right wring ideologues that dominate so much of popular media (talk radio, Newscorp).
I sympathisize with Moore's position, but decry the use of those tactics in his film. It is good that he will provoke debate; but it is bad that opponents, while mixing jibes about his weight problem and how he looks like a homeless person, will have an opportunity to counter his film by logical analysis.
If you want to see a more compelling and credible advocate than Micheal Moore, then I suggest you consider the Nobel laureates concerns about science policy of the current administration and the group of former ambassadors and high-ranking military officers (from both parties) concerns about what the current foreign policies are doing to the United States interests abroad, and not see F9/11. (Unless you won't take it seriously and consider rather as entertainment in the same vein as listening to Rush Limbaugh is entertaining).

But they can turn you away because their Surgeons left the county or don't want to treat high risk cases, due to high malpractice insurance and frivolous lawsuits.
Neurosurgeons don't treat
One more...
Every time a tort reform bill is put forward, it gets shot down in the Congress. I'm in the medical profession too, and it sickens me totally. -
