The Westboro Baptist Church is not Catholic, or Christian. They are a Cult that claims to be Christian. The reality is they are pretty much a single (maybe inbred) family that calls themselves a church.

Actually, the best tactics are, in order:
1. Completely ignore them. Don't feed the trolls.
2. Have a positive, uplifting experience in response to their antics. For instance, organize a pride party (colorful fun for all), or hold up American flags between the WBC and the families attending military funerals.

I didn't know it was the Westborough asshats, or I'd have had words with them, like my pastor did with some similar guys protesting outside the Percy Jackson and the Harry Potter Ripoffs movie.

Please do not feed the real-life trolls.

And that's what they are. The more of a reaction (of any kind) that they elicit, the more they feel like God is on their side, and the more they'll continue doing stupid protests. I've been in a town that responded to a WBC protest with a large gay pride party, which was all good fun, but really the by far best reaction to them has been the Patriot Guard Riders who ensure that what families of fallen soldiers see at military funerals is a lot of people with American flags rather than "God Hates Fags".

There's also a group of veterans (who are also bikers) who have pretty much committed to standing (peaceably) in front of the Westboro group, or surrounding them so that the families don't have to see them. My understanding is that if you know of a funeral which the Westboros are going to show up at, you can contact them and they'll show up.

No support? Puhleeze! I'm guessing you'll get as much support, if not more, from the Community out on the net as you would from the company!

Speaking, of course, of support as in configuration, etc., as opposed to support as in code rewrites...

But still, that's a far shot from "no support unless you pay".
