    I am so glad that they stuck with it. Out of all the Ultima remakes this is the one I have been most exctied about. Few realize how daunting remaking a game as epic as an Ultima can be, and even fewer have the intestines to pull it off (IIRC no one really has, I might be wrong, though Exult doesn't count...)

    Many a promising remake has been called off and others languish.

    I guess the bottom line is...remake or not, these days making a good computer game is tough business indeed.

    I have been following a certain game for a long time, it started as a remake of the first Ultima, but due to legal issues it has evolved into something probably better. The developers talk with the people and that helps them decide what steps to take. Many things have been influenced by the people, as they have a forum just for "fan" interaction. peroxide.dk for the developers main site, eragame.com for the actual game. They have screenshots that are amazing, and best of all its not yet another crappy mmorpg!

    I think the idea is that they recreated the entire game, but with better gfx, sound etc. Kind of like the Ultima 1 3d project or the Ultima Underworld remakes. I've never even played Kings Quest though, so what the hell do I know.

    Although I loved Sierra games, I always preferred certain other RPGs... For those who loved Ultima instead, there are remakes being made of them as well.

    Sorry missed some other stuff to go along with this... Aparently Peroxide is (re)developing Ultima I which is interesting news in and of itself (loved the game!!), also it's going to be freeware as well as they have official permission from Richard Garriet (not Origin or EA though by appearances...)

    Check out the site if you want more info on it... There's some talk on it's forums of doing a Linux version, though it's only Windoze at the mo.
