Re:Ob S.S.D.D
Caveats:
- The next page of the thread, dealing with bypassing two-factor authentication, is two "next"s forward.
- Poisoned Minds / S.S.D.D. is generally N.S.F.W. (Including the next few pages after the one linked.)
This looks like some lame furry shit, but a very brief perusal didn't reveal it to be obviously Nazi lame furry shit, so carry on with my blessings I guess?

SSDD
With continuing unpopularity at the loss of life in wars with dubious motives, America invested more and more in automated units. From unmanned drones to remotely controlled tanks to finally autonomous infantry robots. At first this seemed to be a sound strategy when dealing with areas totally hostile to the US, but there was a problem. America had moved the biggest threat to their security from extremist terrorists, to bored teenagers in their bedrooms.
Early warning signs were ignored. The military hierarchy just couldn't grasp the notion that people would try to crack into their systems for for no other motive then for fun, or that their systems could be so easily compromised. Often by children no less. Compromises in security were covered up. Even when the automated infantry units kept breaking into song and dance routines.

MayTec California OW
Predicted 10 years ago in the SSDD webcomic: California, Oregon, and Washington seceded to form the independent nation of California OW, which was for all intents and purposes owned by the MayTec corporation.
Divided States of America, comic link, sorry it's a Flash animation.
Looks like Uber would be the real-life MayTec if this secession ever happens. Which is funny because MayTec was originally introduced 15 years ago as some company that builds engines.
[And yes I am aware that there are no SSDD readers here, WTF am I talking about, dude, STFU and GTFO, whatever.]

S.S.D.D
"The use of airborne attacks had all bit ceased by the middle of the 21st century due to advances in anti-aircraft and anti-missile technology. Highly accurate, fast aiming laser or coil gun AA sites, coupled with the latest in anti-stealth radar/IR/laser detection systems, meant that most aircraft or missiles would never get close to their targets.
This means most battles are now fought on the ground. Due to fullerene armour making most weapons obsolete, most of the fighting today is men in suits of armour bashing each other over the head with hammers.
Oh how far we have come."

Re:importance of being popular
Not quite done. I'd like to direct your attention toward an actual artist with some humility about his work.
Poisoned Minds: Home of SSDD and other pointless shit made by Alan Foreman
"New World Disorder Fund: Pays the bills to keep this crap online"Randall Munroe is a big fucking asshole, but he's a popular big fucking asshole, because his idiot fans are all tiny little assholes who wish they could be big fucking assholes.

Re:scifi AI
I was thinking of "Trisha" from s.s.d.d. but the idea is the same.
I guess you missed this one?

Re:SouthPark
While we're on the topic of comedians' opinions, check this out (links to a webcomic with bad words, if that matters to you).
You'll already recognize this if you read SSDD, but if not, I think that he hits the nail right on the head. Think about why you're voting for your guy when you go vote. Think if your vote is "thrown away" if you live in a swing state and you vote for a 3rd party. Think about what you'll think of how you voted in 10 years. Get informed and get to the polls, ensure that they do everything properly at the polling place and if not, there's a number to call about it! Hope you don't have to use a Diebold machine, and lastly, remember that half the people will be upset no matter who wins the election but life will go on.
