Re:Common sense
I don't know of any republicans that want to completely abolish the EPA.
I suspect that's because you don't want to know about them.

Re:And yet...
It's the deniers who, every goddamned winter, come out of the woodwork with their childlike taunts
This is your personal bias showing. Otherwise you would have seen that, even when it is cold, non-scientist warmists are still taking it as a sign of global warming. If it's too warm, it's a sign of global warming. If it's too cold, it's a sign of global warming.
You might want to look at whatever process is making you think that only people who disagree with you act like idiots. -
Re:And yet...
And yet last year saw some of the coldest temperatures we've had in a very long time. But I didn't see people screaming OMG GLOBAL FREEZING!!1!!1! back then.
Several years ago, when the changes were starting to get wide attention, people realized that it was extreme weather on both ends and changed the description from "warming" to "climate change". We've had several unusual winters, it's obvious that the phenomenon is not limited to higher temperatures.
And last year I do remember news stories on the unusual winter where people questioned if the global climate change was responsible.
The root of the problem is that global average temperatures are increasing, but since that also contributes to unusual cold snaps then it doesn't help the discussion to call it global warming if every idiot who gets cold uses that as evidence that global warming is not happening. Extreme weather changes on both ends are both symptoms of global warming. You only need to look at a graph of global average temperature over a long period to figure out that it is currently spiking.

Re:Anbody want to
It should be pointed out that Ted Stevens was acquitted of his charges
Ted Stevens was convicted of the charges he faced. But because the DA didn't share all the information gathered with his attorneys the conviction was overturned. The trial judge even appointed a special prosecutor to investigate whether the district attorneys broke the laws.
I'm not saying that a lawmaker can't do things that are illegal as an individual
But you did say it. Not in the same way as above "as an individual", but I copied and pasted what I replied to: "government officials can't do something illegal because they make the laws which define what is legal."
many things which would be illegal for individuals to do are often excepted for political leaders
Politicians do that all the tyme. They even give the government waivers to laws they pass. For instance in the US the largest polluter is the government. I don't know how much weight it carries, it is a Marxist site after all, but Political Affairs has this: U.S. Military – The World's Largest Polluter. The Alexis de Tocqueville Institution, which has the liberal idea of liberty and small government asks the question America's largest polluter – guess who and concludes it's the United States government.
A good current example is how Nancy Pelosi doesn't have to go through the scanners whenever she has to fly between Washington DC and San Francisco.
Because she's third in line to be president of the USA, until January, she gets an Airforce jet for her trips. But I bet if she had to go through security like almost every other flier she'd put a stop to the scanners and pat-downs.
I'm sorry I misspelled the name Charles Rangle. I didn't know I had to bend over so hard to the grammar Nazis here.
Someone posted a complaint? I must of missed it. Not knowing the correct name or spelling I used Google then copied and pasted it.

Exxon-Mobil funding [Re:Impressive]
No, he just doesn't want a bunch of people funded by exxon-mobil selectively quoting tiny portions of his data to support bullshit positions,
Funnily enough, none of the people who asked for the data were funded by Exxon-Mobil. Its boring how facts get submerged by a straightforward lie.
Uh, except actually they were. It's not even particualry a secret-- take a look at who funds the "Heartland Institute" (Hint: Exxon Mobil). Google the "American Petroleum Institute".
For a while they were even offering a payment of ten thousand dollars to every scientist who published a paper casting doubt on global warming. (They stopped this when it got publicized in the Guardian.)

I hope I am wrong but
I hope I am wrong but this is probably more informative than troll. After all the have already objected to the HPV vaccine and prevent distribution of condoms in areas with high HIV rates. I suspect we will hear objections from the religious right.

Re:Japan Goes Nuclear At Last?
It'll be interesting to see if this latest provocation makes Japan finally go nuclear.
The Japan Self-Defense Forces always seemed like a very sensible idea to me (have a military, but only to defend yourself), and it seems odd given the history when people like you or the USA suggest they become an aggressor military force again

Re:Okay. Here's *MY* blog entry, Senator
Now, not to say that the bill is useless, but major funded programs like Iraq or Social Security don't justify (relatively) smaller programs, especially when the existing system isn't broken
LOL that's the point of the bill is to help fix the system!I haven't heard anything about a lack of care for our solders, I don't see what the big issue is.
Really?

As always, you can google for other things. There have been MANY issues. Unless you have been living in a hole, I'm not sure how you couldn't know about the Walter Reed thing (then again I live only about 30 minutes from there, so it may have gotten more attention around here) -
Re:DejavuWow - you really think this is about airport searches? Man, you're clueless. This is about this and, more generically, that.
That's where the danger lies: a few mistakes by the wrong people too interested in CYA, and off to Syria or Egypt you go.
You know what? I won't cry if you do. You apparently don't care if anyone else goes.

Re:Libby Lied to Protect Bush
A new leash law? Please curb you high crime president? There are articles of impeachment for Cheney in the house http://www.politicalaffairs.net/article/articlevi
e w/5505/1/268/. There were articles introduced for Bush in the last session, but none in this session. Perhaps the immigration debate will settle down if those two are off singing about brown eyed women and red grenadine. Kind of balance things out a bit. -
