Digital Pen?
Unless I've missed it, I can't believe no one has suggested a digital pen such as the e-Pen ones? http://www.practicalpc.co.uk/reviews/hard/peripherals/e-pens-create.htm

Re:SATA, not IDE
I agree. Just throw the discs in there. I mean its not like the people of the future will be unable to do research to determine how to use them. The only limitation is whether the discs will maintain their structural integrity for that long. Most burnable cds only last around two or three years under usage. Link
They could last much longer if you get higher end discs.

Re:Oh stop whinging
Thanks for the update. My old router only had a 10mb/s WAN connection and used to choke when Blueyonder moved above 6Mb/sec so I changed to a cheap Netgear one with a 100Mbit WAN port - much better and only about £40. There's a review at http://www.practicalpc.co.uk/reviews/hard/network
i ng/netgearfvs114.htm assuming they still make it. -

Re:How long before Microsoft patches Vista
8-times more hardware, eh? And where'd you pull that number? Out of your ass?
Thought so.
My ass doesn't run Vista yet, sorry.
Any sysad will tell you XP needs 512MB RAM; and reports on Vista indicate the beast needs 4GB RAM to run as fast as XP. Any fool that doesn't have his head in his ass will tell you 4GB is 8 times 512MB.
XP sweet spot is 512MB: http://www.practicalpc.co.uk/computing/windows/ram needs.htm
Vista sweet spot is 4GB http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?com mand=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9011523
