Next Stop
This is great news for web developers; Finally consumers are getting what they are paying for! But we still have a long way to go..
:) I feel that the implementations must emerge concurrently with the drafts, we should not wait a few years for it to arrive on mainline usage. I also think that everyone's trying to rise the bar so high that nobody can pass through quickly enough, giving everyone else a chance to work it up, but leaving web developers in limbo. Why not raise it only as high as to encourage most people to rise above it quickly enough? -

Atom is very simple:
- There's the Atom Format, which is just a format.
- There's the Atom Protocol, which is a weblogging protocol that uses the Atom Format for its messages.
- You do not need the protocol to make use of the format.
