    This is great news for web developers; Finally consumers are getting what they are paying for! But we still have a long way to go.. :) I feel that the implementations must emerge concurrently with the drafts, we should not wait a few years for it to arrive on mainline usage. I also think that everyone's trying to rise the bar so high that nobody can pass through quickly enough, giving everyone else a chance to work it up, but leaving web developers in limbo. Why not raise it only as high as to encourage most people to rise above it quickly enough?

    Atom is very simple:

    • There's the Atom Format, which is just a format.
    • There's the Atom Protocol, which is a weblogging protocol that uses the Atom Format for its messages.
    • You do not need the protocol to make use of the format.

    And the migration guide you seek already exists.
