Re:Not terribly smart on their part...
"Brutality and killing has only ever resulted in MORE people being brutalized and killed, is never actually a solution."
Spoken like a true, brainwashed, ignorant liberal... Apparently you failed history class. Here are a few highlights of the exact opposite: WW2 ended "new Socialist" Hitler's bid for world domination and extermination of around 8 million people of "lesser races", Korea stopped the brutalization and murder of millions of south Koreans (see what happened when the US failed in Vietnam and the millions of people brutalized and 7.5 million murdered there after we left http://rebirthofreason.com/Art... ), Desert Storm (the people of Kuwait were saved from brutalization and murder), even the crusades for all their faults, stopped the bloody, violent, imperialist expansion of Islam http://www.americanthinker.com... .
Trumps intelligence was underestimated by a lot of people, including you, apparently. How smart he actually is will be determined by his record.
Considering your own apparent lack of basic history, I suggest you may better use your time reading up on history so that in the future you can make a more reasonable argument.

Re:Accusations of pedophilia?!?!
"The fear of libertarianism is the terror that the mediocre feel at the possibility of being judged on their merits." Lolwhut?
Here, let me correct that for you:
"The fear of libertarianism is the terror that sane people feel at the possibility that someone like Rand Paul might actually have some real power."
I would refer you to his comments about the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as his pathetic excuse to avoid being questioned on Meet The Press, and then appearing on a wacky conspiracy theorist Russian tv program.
As long as libertarianism produces insane nonsense such as this:
The Scourge of Public Libraries , normal people will look upon libertarianism with a mixture of bemusement and revulsion.
"Who is John Galt?" Well, he's a rapist, among other things.
Yet he's the 'hero' of Atlas Shrugged.
Yep. Bemusement and revulsion.
(Yes, it's off topic. Mod away, Randroid fanboys. Mod away.)

Re:Do Not Fall For This Dangerous Scam
Foo! What is this, "The Preview Button" of which you speak?"

TFA is a humorous article...
...this dipshit is SERIOUS!
The Scourge of Public Libraries
.Instead of just books, most of my local libraries contain all sorts of media that people can check out, including movies. Instead of going to one of the Blockbuster Video stores that are on practically every corner and paying $4, one can go to a local library and pay 50 cents or at some places nothing at all. Yay! Free movies!
Of course, if you want to get one of the more popular movies, you'll have to sign up on the waiting list several weeks in advance. It reminds me of Soviet breadlines. Very few people get their movies at libraries compared to Blockbuster. At least in this case, the convenience and selection of the free market are beating the socialist gravy train.
Yes, being on a waiting list for a DVD from the Boston Public Library (in my case) is JUST LIKE a "Soviet breadline".
Is there no end to Libertarian douchebaggery?

Re:1 Million Strong Against our SOCIALIST Fire Dep
RIGHT ON!
And fuck those fucking socialist public libraries , too!
GOD DAMN that filthy socialist bastard Benjamin Franklin for infecting the U.S. with his "public libraries"!

Re:Multiple interpretations
"Free options like hulu don't include some series I wanted to see like Earth Final Conflict or the Avengers. I purchased both of these on DVD, and they both sucked. That's almost $200 wasted, and I can't return either of them."
Jeebus! That's what Netflix is for! You bloody RENT the box set, or as much of it as you need to rent to see if you like or dislike it.
"Oh, but it's not FREE!!!" Sucks to be you, then, you cheap sod! Using Netflix to see if you liked Earth: Final Conflict or the Avengers box sets would have been a LOT Cheaper than buying the box sets and discovering you didn't like them.
In some instances, you can even borrow these DVDs for free from your local library, even though libraries are, in the opinion of the Libertarians, "Public libraries, as institutions that destroy value, destroy in some small way our ability to live our lives to the fullest. They represent houses of death and should be spat upon and cursed in the most creative language possible."
So, sell the box sets on eBay or Craigslist and make back some of your money, which you can then spend on MORE crap you'll discover that you don't like.

Re:What about digging too?
I'm equating a political philosophy that exists in a realm of purest fantasy to a scam dressed as a "religion/mind control cult" (oh, but I repeat myself!) that also exists in a realm of purest fantasy.
Libertarianism believes in the fantasy they will succeed only when the Perfect Libertarian Man (and Woman) have evolved. Until then, the Libertarian Ideal of selfish behavior and "I got mine, so FUCK YOU!" must remain the basic driving philosophy behind, well, selfish bastards, the GOP and the Libertarian Party.
Here's an example of Libertarian Fantasy . Being on the waiting list for a video from the public library, "It reminds me of Soviet breadlines."
Oh, here's another choice comment from that same article about public libraries:
Public libraries, as institutions that destroy value, destroy in some small way our ability to live our lives to the fullest. They represent houses of death and should be spat upon and cursed in the most creative language possible.
I reiterate, Libertarianism: The Scientology of Politics. Both are fantasies that cater to a juvenile mindset, eager to believe the most absurd fantasies. Except that Scientology figured out a way to make a profit from those fantasies.
Unlike Libertarianism.

Re:People are still buying DRMd music.
"Equating Libertarianism to greed is a bit like equating free speech to hate speech."
As opposed to a Libertarian equating a waiting list for a movie from the public library to a Stalin-era Soviet Union breadline ?
-
Re:The epitome of unbiased summaries
So do what I do. Buy only USED DVDs, preferably from local, independently owned shops. eBay is also a good source for used DVDs. Most libraries also have DVDs you can borrow, although, according to the Libertarians, borrowing a DVD from the library is exactly like a breadline in Stalinist RUSSIA!!!1!ELEVENTY!!
Or, there's ALWAYS the Internet. BitTorrent and the .avi format are proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy!
